  5. Been thinking about Green Day a lot this weekend. First I was talking to Lone about how exciting it'll be when they finally announce something new. Then I was talking to J'net about how quiet it's been. Then I was reading an interview with the lead singer of FIDLAR who talked about Green Day. Same guy who said Billie gave him some support when he was going through rehab. He (Zac - from FIDLAR) wrote this song about how he felt after his intervention. Really good song. Then I started wondering what Billie Joe has written about everything that's happened to them in the last 3 years since the trilogy. Between politics and his own rehab and all that, there's a whole lot that's gone on and I'm really curious what his writing has focused on. 3 years since they released anything seems like a very long time. It feels very different than the time between the other albums, because then they were out there performing, the musical was going on, there was still a lot of "Green Day" - but now it's quiet. I'm telling myself they've hunkered down and have been working on stuff but don't want to announce anything as to not distract from that process. Very similar to the break between Warning and American Idiot. But man, I really hope 2016 is finally the year they come back.
