21st Century Breakdown is definitely my favourite GD album. It's a lyrical masterpiece. The only song on it that I don't like that much is LOTAG, the lyrics are decent but musically it's kind of boring. I didn't like 21 Guns that much until I saw it live but I love it now. I also love the video, which I know was a very unpopular opinion around the time it came out
American Eulogy live it's even better.
I would so love to see that again.
The Static Age and American Eulogy are the lyrical highlights of 21CB for me, definitely some of my favourites. I can see why the chorus and its repetition might not appeal to everyone but I think it works as a whole
There are good lines but stuff like "I got a really bad disease/its got me begging on my hands and knees" bug me so much for some reason I do like the Know Your Enemy lines, since it references an earlier song on the album and makes the album seem more connected, if that makes sense :3
See The Light's nothing spectacular, but it's still good. Static Age is one of the most fun songs on the album, 21 Guns is a good arm-waving stadium song, RHS and Last Night On Earth are just good in general
I love misery and the static age is absolutely underrated. It should have been released as a single.
I am really not a fan of money money 2000. I can appreciate that it was outside their comfort zone but it is not my type of music
