The acoustic is awesome Billies voice to me is the most intimate vocals we probably will ever get on record from Billie2 points

The last few days have been a fucking roller coaster. All our emotions were stored up for years because nothing happened but then everything happened all at once and it all unloaded like fire works on New Year's Eve. And now it's over again.2 points

Thanks for this. Of course, I didn't really understand 90% of what they were talking about but it was nice to listen and try and learn a bit about all their equipment.2 points

So... My brother was whining this morning because apparently, all I bought at Walmart was green apple koolade. And I told him green day koolade was superior, and only after did I realize I did not say green apple was superior... Too much Green Day this weekend. And!... my newest high score this morning with 5520 and highest level is Uno.2 points

At the record store today, I found two copies of International Supervideos! in the $3 clearance bin. They're in pretty good condition too, shockingly.2 points

It's somehow interesting how pessimistic Green Day fandom is. Billie said one sentence and 24 hours later we have speculations about the band retiring or breaking up, Billie getting divorced, Jason dying of cancer, Billie dying of cancer and a hiatus hundreds of years long going on. Seriously, I doubt there are more overthinkers in any other fandom out there.2 points

It is 7 am on a beautiful Saturday morning where it will be 70 degrees today. I have not had my coffee yet and the first thing I do is start playing this game. Jimmy, I hate you.2 points

The acoustic version of stay the night is unbelievable. The vocals are so pretty. It is not single material but needs to do it live1 point
-
See what I mean? IDK, maybe if it was a full version of one of the first sections (like with the extra verses seen in Cuatro); the final product on Tré feels like a giant clusterfuck to me.1 point

My issue with Stray Heart on the demo is Billie doesn't sound good singing it imo it's the same issue with it live...1 point
-
Yes that is the one issue but once you get passed it the song kicks ass. I think nuclear family would work better than Carpe diem. But I think Carpe diem over let yourself go1 point
-
Stay The Night for first then Nuclear Family Let Yourself Go and Oh Love maybe but not as the first single STN is a great song and has that GD feeling and Nuclear sounds like a 90s GD that older fans would've picked up on1 point

As far as I know he only played his teeth (like, hitting them with his fingers to make a sound at the beginning). In the back of his latest book there's a little blurb about him that actually mentions he "...earned a gold record playing his teeth as a musical instrument." in reference to that and I'm not sure if it'd say that if he'd also played harmonica. I don't know who it was though so it's possible.1 point

I'm so happy they are both being inducted into the Hall of Fame. And yeah, that surprised me about Joan, too.1 point

So much work! But I guess it's a good idea; I made the same suggestion on the GD & other celebrities thread 'cause I didn't know some of those celebrities!1 point

Haha, in this case I was actually annoyed because I'm sure they've bashed other music acts as well (especially pre-American Idiot when they liked to take the piss out of everything) but I can't think of more examples . But I've just remembered this gem from this 1996 interview, Billie slagging off Henry Rollins and John Lydon: CW Do you get a lot of resentment from first-generation punk bands? ARMSTRONG Sometimes, but not a lot. Henry Rollins has a stick up his ass. He's another bitter old bastard. Basically he's complaining because we've made more money than he has. But hey, Henry, you fucking suck. You were not even close to being the best singer for Black Flag, and you didn't even write the lyrics back then. So why should I give a fuck what you think? DIRNT The only band that has any right to be bitter would be the Ramones, because they fucking stayed together. But even then, I don't feel sorry for one of the most influential punk rock bands in the world-probably the biggest punk rock band in the world. ARMSTRONG How can they complain? There are bands that were more influential to me who've never seen the light of day, yet even they're not complaining. Take what you've got and appreciate that. I didn't get into punk rock to get famous. It was already a proven fact that you couldn't get famous playing punk rock music. God, we were around for six years before we broke through-from '88 to '94. We did two albums and three EP's. DIRNT This was at a time when bands like Guns N' Roses and Van Halen were totally on top. ARMSTRONG You know who's another bitter old bastard? Johnny Rotten. He sounds like my grandmother, at times. He really sounds old. And he's so predictable in his comments about us. I mean, be a bit more novel. Try and come up with something new. On top of that, some of the stuff from P.I.L. [Rotten's post-Pistols group] was complete shit, as far as I'm concerned.1 point

I think Paper Lanterns was the song he "hey-ohhed" in the most, found an example at 5:20 here (or start watching at 4:25 if you want to see some entertaining kinkiness first ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5dQPN460M01 point
