  1. That's just really fucking weak. Blaming Green Day for someone's DUI would be like blaming Marilyn Manson for Columbine. Oh, wait. Speaking of Walking Contradiction, I love it. Not even so much the overall sound, but the lyrics are easily some of the cleverest Billie has ever written.

  2. All these bands are connected, that's what I love about East Bay punk. so really Fifteen's music isn't too far off from Green Day's. Jeff Ott formed Fifteen after leaving Crimpshrine, which was founded by Aaron Cometbus, who is Pinhead Gunpowder's drummer, and was Green Day's roadie on their early North American tours.

  3. I'll never get over the fact that AI ends with Billie rhyming time with time.

  5. Has anyone listened to the song DUI They left it off for legal reasons if someone drove drunk and hurt someone and they said they heard Green Day say it was ok the group and Warner could face a lawsuit...

  6. Billie's explanation: "I'm a fan of irresponsibility, but not that much irresponsibility." Which is complete crap considering he was arrested for a DUI not long after.

  7. That's just four bands. Al and I were gonna make an entire visual showing all the East Bay punk bands of the era. Throw in Operation Ivy, Monsula, Isocracy, Samiam, the list just keeps going on and on

  9. I kind of don't like to pick it as my favourite because it's so different to the rest of the album . Great song but isn't a good example to represent the album as a whole which is brilliant in itself. But at the same time it makes it easier to pick out, while all the wonderful fast and angry songs that make the album what it is are more similar to each other and harder to choose between.

  10. I don't care that much about the closer, both Brutal Love and Good Riddance are great. The only thing I want from them for the next tour is to refresh their setlist. They have tons of great songs that they rarely (or never) playing live.

  11. Yeah I love the lyrics! They're so clever and entertaining they make it my favourite song on Insomniac.

  12. I only "liked" your post because I like Whatsername so much. I retract any liking of the first sentence. I'm also prepared to fight you IRL in April to defend Good Riddance's honor.

  13. Good Riddance is a way better closer than Brutal Love.

  14. That quote is from here: , so after his DUI. And anyway, having been arrested for DUI doesn't mean one can't realise it's an irresponsible thing to do.
