I don't see how you can compare the vocals on Foreverly and the Trilogy anyway. They're totally different styles of music and require different vocal styles. He shows off his range a lot more on Foreverly, but given the fact the Trilogy is mostly rock it needs his trademark snarl. And it just doesn't have it.

Yeah Billie was pretty off at Rock Am Ring vocally. No doubt. But Reading was much better, though he may have appeared a bit bored at certain points, it was probably nothing. As for Foreverly not being "creative"... well I think that's just missing the point. The fact that he recorded a pretty unknown Everly brothers album with someone who is so dissimilar from him musically (Norah Jones) is an inherently creative thing to do. Obviously if you don't like folk/roots country then it will be quite boring. But that album had some incredible harmonies, and the songs were brought to life with their more modern sound.

Nah, at least he sounds humane. Absolute perfection isn't the point of live music anyway.

I am so sick of the older artists should be inducted before younger artists argument. Since when is any hall of fame done on a first come, first served basis? Every artist, ball player, should be looked at based on what they accomplished, not on what was accomplished by people before them. If a younger artist, or athlete is more worthy than an older one, then they get inducted first. The older artist argument is an invalid argument.

Yesterday I heard a live version of Oh Love on the radio and it seemed longer than Jesus of Suburbia.

I agree I just pointed Holiday as I find the delay pretty obvious on this one (for example most part of Letterbomb doesn't have delay).

Difference with AI is, the guitars are layered multiple times, the sound is larger. So the effects simply allow Billie to be heard above the noise. But with the stripped down trilogy music, the filters get in the way.

Sometimes I have random moments, whether it's when I'm blasting Green Day in the car or watching their sets on YouTube, where I get this overwhelming feeling of happiness and I can't help but smile. This band's music has brought joy to my life for about 10+ years now and I'm so thankful for that. It's crazy to think that they were the first band I absolutely fell in love with back when I was going into middle school. Of course I went through times when I obsessed over other bands too but those were phases that came and went. Being a Green Day fan wasn't just a phase for me; they still managed to keep me happy after all these years. Now that i'm 21, I have even more appreciation for their music and the guys themselves. Even though I may not be a huge fan of their newer stuff, I'll always love and respect them no matter what and I can't wait to find out what else they have in store for us. Anyway, that's enough of my sappy thoughts for now I just spent the last hour jamming out to 1039 Smooth in the car, and it made me in a good mood, hence this post. Hehe. Also, I just want to say all of you on this forum are the best! I know I don't post often but I do know for certain that all of you are lovely people. <3
