  2. If news outlets write "bad" stories — enterprise stories that uncover corruption, devastating breaking news, tragic deaths, etc. — they're told to find more happy stories and to quit clogging up the feeds with so much negativity and hate. If news outlets write "good" stories, they're mockingly told it "must be a slow news day" and instructed to stop writing fluff pieces. There's no pleasing anyone, obviously. Personally, I don't see the problem with writing this kind of story at all. As I said, reporters are always told to find "good" news stories that make you smile, and anyone who's ever lost and found a pet can obviously relate to this story and its happy ending. The fact a celebrity helped out makes it noteworthy. Again, I don't see why it's so "shocking" that this was covered. It's basic quirky celebrity gossip/human interest story material, really. This story has nothing to do with the popularity of the band or its relevance at this time. One could argue if the band was active at this time it would make news outlets even more inclined to write about every little thing its members do, just for the general fact that the band would be of greater interest to their readers.

  3. I always have room for a great anthem. The lyrics are poignant, the vocals beautiful and it is one of the best live tracks ever.

  4. Why is Christian´s Inferno so disliked? It´s one of my favourites, I listen to it quite often. Maybe I love it just because of the beat, and maybe because of the kind of apocalyptic mood. Love it.

  5. I don't mind them either. Concerts are supposed to be fun and all the hey oh's may be stupid and childish, but their fun in person.

  6. I dont like Christian's Inferno because I think it's disjointed. The verses are very angry and hard. Then the chorus is repetitive and childish. Its like what a song would sound like if they collaborated with The Wiggles

  7. What about Why Do You Want Him? I thought that was one of the first they wrote too, they just recorded it later. I am also definitely pro hey-oh. For the record, I'm also pro heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey-ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.

  8. That album is pure gold. If they could sit down and write a full album in one night, completely smashed, I can only imagine how awesome of a record they're capable of making with more time/effot. (Hold the Trilogy jokes, plz ) I went to buy a Mother Mary 7-inch from ebay today for $7 (plus shipping), and i was about to press the confirm button when I realized that it was a 2009 reissue (as opposed to the "limited" numbered 2008 issues). Does this officially make me an elitist? I feel kind of dirty admitting it. But obviously people must agree with me since the 2008 ones are going for $30+ and the 2009 was under $10.

  13. You lot are so boring. I think it's actually a pretty good news story - someone with the power to do so (thousands of followers) spread the word about a missing pet and within a day it was found. It shows a real sense of community brought about by social media. Perhaps it wasn't down to Billie's post that the dog was found but either way, it's still a good story.

  14. What's worse was they took a great Zepplin song and made it slow and boring

  20. I'm shocked people said She and Waiting were their least favorites... I think those are two of their best songs

  21. Yeah I've heard that was written early as well but I feel like the Sweet Children songs were probably written earlier judging by how good they are (I don't know if that's the case for sure but the lyrics seem less mature and I believe Billie has said Best Thing In Town was the first song he wrote for the band or something like that). In any case they're not as good as Why Do You Want Him. But that's pretty low down on my list too. I find the music quite interesting especially with the cool eerie bit at the beginning and after the guitar solo, and the awesome build up to the guitar solo. And with the falsetto, doesn't seem remarkable now but when it came out we hadn't heard a lot of that from Billie before and it was quite striking. I think BOBD is better and more interesting but 21 Guns is decent too. But then again I also like The Forgotten

  22. I think you probably meant to post this in the Q&A thread so I moved it here. I also wanted to find the video the first gif set is from a few months ago and did in this thread, do either of the youtube clips (that were blocked in my country) or the download link that were posted work for you? The second gif is from this show, I don't know at what point though: http://vimeo.com/99865134

  23. Guess what?! I just made it through the Trilogy, one by one, front to back, not skipping one single song! YEAH! Probably for the first time. Even more - it supported my housework, and I really enjoyed it. Now the kitchen is clean and the floor as well.

  24. Yeah, I think it´s this funky little tune I don´t like.

  25. Sure you may ask, but I won´t be able to give you an accurate answer. Especially for you I just listened to it again. Just to find out, it´s not that bad anymore, I just don´t relate to it in any way. Okay, I shall take it off of my worst-list... Haha, I mostly ignore the lyrics, I can´t cope with the melody of Kill the DJ.

  26. They're all different for Green Day so makes sense I suppose. I tend to like their more different sounding songs a lot though This , and not only that they must've been written when they were like 14 and it shows. I like them for the isn't it cool/cute to hear how their songwriting started out and what they sounded like recording on the spur of the moment on a tiny budget and turns out it wasn't bad factor, but I couldn't rate them above any of their other songs. Except maybe I Want To Be Alone. Yes! I also remember it feeling really new and different when it first came out because of the falsetto (it's crazy how used to it I am now when at first it sounded so novel), and also the cool sounding part right at the beginning that's repeated after the guitar solo which is very sadly cut out in the music video and on the radio. So I don't really get complaints that it's boring etc. It's a great song. I am also pro-hey-ohh

  28. It's just my personal least favorite. I don't think its their overall worst song. There's MUCH worse songs they've made. (Although for me it's down there) When I first heard it, I had mixed feelings. Now every time I see it being #2 on the "Best Green Day Songs" list on TheTopTens.com I want to jump off a bridge.

  31. My three least favorite would have to be Wild One, Troublemaker and A Little Boy Named Train, for reasons I and others have laid out many a time.

  32. I like 21 Guns - it's definitely not one of my favourites, but it's good.

  33. How is it not good news? I don't think anyone thinks it's a hugely important event or Billie's a hero or anything but it's cool and positive that social media can make something good like a dog being reunited with its owner happen just with a few simple "Hey if you live in the SF area, please look out for this dog, ok? bye" messages being posted. Just an example of the good social media can do which is made slightly more interesting by a celebrity having been involved, a harmless feelgood story. Also my lost cat was once found because of kind people on Facebook which was amazing so I find this extra cool

  34. In this line the middle east is being referred to as being the worst place you can possibly be in the world. While Anaheim the location of Disneyland, which calls itself "The Happiest Place On Earth". So Anaheim was used as it can be seen as the exact opposite to the middle east. Anaheim = Peace, Middle East = War. This is the way I take it anyway.

  35. Or maybe this kind of "slow news" stuff is constantly out there every single day, today is just so happened to be about someone we care about.

  36. Fahiza, Trundle & Spring, Complusive Disclosure, Jump Salty, Goodbye Ellston Ave, chords/Words, Dillinger 4 split, PHGP Ep, Shoot the Moon, Carry the Banner, West Side Highway. That's more than 5 I wouldn't give you shit if you just said albums, but you said albums and EPs.
