You lot are so boring. I think it's actually a pretty good news story - someone with the power to do so (thousands of followers) spread the word about a missing pet and within a day it was found. It shows a real sense of community brought about by social media. Perhaps it wasn't down to Billie's post that the dog was found but either way, it's still a good story.5 points

Any album with MPLS Song on it can't be horrible! Billie's is good too! And it is mostly him and Jason, so I don't mind a bit of the others occasionally. Actually I've been wondering which other members sing. Like I assume it was Sarah (then known as Mike) on Jump Salty but was it Aaron too? And is it sometimes Bill? They're all credited for vocals on at least some of the albums so I wonder who sings on which songs or if some only ever did backing vocals.2 points

The line in "Amy" could be a reference to Winehouse's "Rehab", where there's this line: "I don't ever wanna drink again, I just, oohh, I just need a friend".2 points

It is seriously a slow news day if Billie instagraming about a dog is getting this much press. I didn't say it was a bad thing, it is good that the dog was saved. But, if there was more going on with the band this would not have even hit the presses. The one good thing, band wise, is that the news organizations are looking for news about them, so they are printing what they have.1 point

Hmm yeah I think he must, he's credited for vocals on the album and is even depicted as singing it with the others in the artwork, and it sounds how he's described his voice . I wonder if other vocals that sound like that are always Aaron or if other members have similar voices and sing as well. Edit: I've just gone and asked if anyone knows who sings what in the Pinhead Gunpowder thread, probably a better place to find out/discuss it.1 point

10 Artists Who Paid Tribute To Their Parents In Their Music: Green Day, Pink Floyd, And More 7. Green Day - "Wake Me Up When September Ends" (2004) Though the music video for Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" depicts the death of a young man in the Iraq War, the song's lyrics are actually about singer Billie Joe Armstrong's father, who passed away of cancer when Armstrong was just 10 years old. http://www.musictimes.com/articles/24256/20150112/10-artists-paid-tribute-parents-music-green-day-pink-floyd-sufjan-stevens.htm The Craziest Rock Star Meltdowns on a Plane of All Time Billy Joe Armstrong The Green Day frontman is in serious need of a wardrobe overhaul. At least according to a flight attendant on Southwest, who, on an Oakland-to-Burbank route in 2011, asked the singer to pull up his sagging pants. Armstrong, who was waiting to put his bag in the overhead bin when he was approached by the crew member, replied to the request: “‘Don’t you have better things to do than worry about that?” According to a fellow passenger, an ABC-TV associate producer, who witnessed the entire argument, the flight attendant repeated: “Pull your pants up or you’re getting off the plane,” to which Armstrong said: “I’m just trying to get to my f - - king seat.” The singer was booted off the flight, though the airline later apologized for the incident. https://www.yahoo.com/travel/craziest-rock-star-meltdowns-on-a-plane-of-all-107910690422.html1 point

Bille Joe Armstrong’s Instagram Followers Help Find Lost Dog When a pitbull named Mochi was stolen from her home in San Francisco, her owners took to social media to let the world know. They had photos of the dog and the person who stole her. The images made their way to Jim Thiebaud, former professional skate boarder and the co-founder of punk label Adeline Records along with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. Armstrong himself picked up on Thiebaud’s post, reposting it to his Instagram account, and CBS San Francisco reports that his call to action prompted several of his followers to come out and join the search for Mochi. In less than a day following Armstrong’s post, and three days since she first went missing, Mochi was found and returned to her home. Sabina Thompson, one of her owners, offered thanks to members of San Francisco’s meet-up community Flask Mob, where her other owner David Baker works, for spotting Mochi. http://live105.cbslocal.com/2015/01/13/bille-joe-armstrongs-instagram-followers-help-find-lost-dog/1 point

I already more or less have permission to grope BJA if the opportunity presents itself. Photoshop would be tame. Likewise, Brandon has permission to make out with Carrie Underwood if he ever finds her. #equality1 point

Jump Salty by Pinhead Gunpowder is absolutely horrible. Can't stand Sarah's (Mike's) voice one bit, Jason does the vocals so much better.1 point
