Macy's Day Parade just came on and oh my God I need to take deep breaths. I've never listened to it this loud before and I've been missing out all my life.4 points

They use it at the start of American Eulogy2 points

I like starting the album with it. I think he sounds beautiful on it and is a great into to 21st Century Breakdown. It probably would have been easier just to consider them one song, but they didn't. It kind of reminds me of the into to Letterbomb.2 points

For quite a while I didn't really like the sound of the Lookout albums, but then one day I just thought "wait a minute, this is great".2 points

That looks like the tour program I bought at a Green Day show in 2009 It's a simple book with pictures on each page, sometimes with a quote on it. On that picture on the website the top picture is the front of the book, and the bottom two pics are two examples of what you'll find inside.1 point

I like See The Light altho I don't go out of my way to listen to it like I don't just play it randomly or anything but when I listen to the album I always play it all the way which is regularly1 point

Yeah Song of the Century is a great intro, a suitable way to start an epic album. And as mentioned it continues at the start of American Eulogy, that along with the opening chords of 21st CB continuing at the end of See the Light ties the whole album together nicely. Before the album came out or we'd heard any music from it those opening chords of 21st CB were played on a loop on greenday.com as a teaser, it was so mysterious . Made the song even more awesome when we got to hear it. And I'm the second1 point

When I first heard that song on the album I was pretty sure it would be reapeted on a verse or chorus of a later track, but it wasn't and I still think it would have been so cool because I really like the melody :/1 point

I really like the lyrics of See The Light. Green Day posted all the album's lyrics online a few weeks before it came out and it was one of the ones I was looking forward to the most because of them, so it was kind of disappointing that it was one of the weakest songs musically when I heard it. But it's OK, and lyrically I think it's the perfect note to end the album on, and I like how the music that introduced the album is repeated at the end too.1 point

I think in Cautro when they flash thru the lyrics sheet they showed crushing bastards and had lyrics to loss of control someone freeze framed the sheets could be mistaken tho1 point

I can say with confidence that I've never listened to that song in full.1 point

About 21st Century Breakdown, I've just realised how See The Light is a poor closing song for such an amazing album, definitely the weakest track imo1 point

You could actually be doing it right very often, it just a tiny differentiation between us when it comes to, er, status updates. Not to make this a spammy post, here's an unpopular opinion (maybe). I like the trashy/shitty sound of the first two albums. The poor sound quality just gives them... character.1 point

I think people whose work is based on subjective creativity are often their own worst critics. It's like a delicate balance of egotism and insecurity. I absolutely hate 90 percent of my stories just because I'm so hard on myself. Only once in a while do I actually think "damn, this is fucking good," and even then I'm still insecure about it. And my work is hardly as creative as writing and performing songs like a band does. I don't believe that's been confirmed.1 point

And a live version of Homecoming just came on and I involuntarily started clapping after the intro. Seriously, I didn't even think about it, it just happened. That song is absolutely phenomenal.1 point

Your concerts keep getting longer. Pretty soon you will have them playing their entire catalog in one show.1 point
