He's a great guitar player, singer and songwriter and his personality and understated performance style on stage is badass, and I'm a fan of his contributions to several excellent bands. Some people here might say they "love" him ironically now but that's just a silly new fad, some of us really love him Yeah I like that, he's there to play the music and isn't bothered about getting the attention on himself which is refreshing. But you can still see how much he enjoys playing which is really cool, and it means when he does do something extra to entertain it seems more special. Like when my sister and I were being silly waving at him during a show and he gave us a cool nod of acknowledgement it was great , or when we noticed him hip thrusting during St Jimmy once or doing a belly dance at the Foxboro show lol, or just when he does the awesome frantic guitar playing at the end of BOBD. I really enjoy watching him live, he's entertaining in his own subtle way and I'm equally happy to be on his side as Mike's.

I rewatched the Behind the Music Remastered I DVRed a couple of weeks ago. Billie said "yknow" 26 times, Mike 22. They've been around each other too much.

That's right. They could have made something ironic, but this is rather a bad idea and moreover looks pretty bad. I wouldn't pay for this.

I just like his cool, understated nature. He seems to be happy to stay in the background a little and let everyone else fuss. I guess I like that cos I'm a bit like that. But I think White deserves a bit more of the limelight, which is why he shouldn't be drowned out.

I never said it did Also, the are we the waiting/haushinka thing is pretty good, that transition needs to be cleaned up though. Actually, I do think that the jinx/haushinka transition is probably the best one. It's so smooth, you don't immediately realise you've gone to a new song, when you hear it for the first time.

Based on the evidence the next thing Green day should do is that they should let Jason write songs, Mike sing and they should fire Billie. I'm only 50% ironic.

Putting in my two-cents about the 21stCB demo: I like it more than the album version and I will never let it go. I remember being completely heartbroken when the album came out and the song was changed. I guess I just didn't understand at the time what demo meant, but the lyrics are twice as good compared to what they released. The vocals were spot on too. That album version is weak in comparison. fucking ace man.

There's a bunch on discogs, not worth that much.

A book of poetry by Aaron Cometbus called Last Supper was published recently and I got it for Christmas. On the last page of the book there's a little note about Aaron that mentions among other things that he "...earned a gold record playing his teeth as a musical instrument." That was on Knowledge on 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.

Holy Fuck I can't believe this thread is still kicking. Five years ago when I started it, I would have tried to been less stoned and came up with a better title. Ha It has brought me countless hours of laughter and I am about to go read through the latest. Haven't been on these forums in a while but hope everyone is well.
