As well as the example above, when he sings some words beginning with an "h" he'll drop the "h" sound Cockney style, eg "I 'ope you had the time of your life" and "Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken 'omes". Some of his vowels sound kind of English as well, not all the time but just sometimes, like I guess in the words hope and home there. It gives him a very slight hint of an English accent on occasion, he still always sounds American overall though.3 points

"Of course objective good and bad art exist. The younger generation is so soft. Everyone is good and everyone is lovely even though they are really losers...." Did I do it right ?2 points

I love 21 Guns. You can kick me, you can punch me and break my face but you won't change the way I feel Also, it must be noted that different people may have different conceptions of Green Day, and what theyre about etc, and so they may appreciate different things as art is always subjective. And if a song happens to be a popular and well-known, it doesn't necessarily make it a bad song. It's a ridiculous habit of some people to claim that you can't be a fan if you happen to like the hits as well Reminds me of a certain Slovenian guy, in all seriousness. Anyway, telling what is true fandom and what is not is absolutely ridiculous for surely you can't tell others what they're allowed to dig and what not, in order to be cool or hil or something as stupendous. I can understand why some people may not like 21 Guns, it's surely bombastic and the lyrics are sometimes a bit vague and it could be argued that it's generally a bit pretentious, generic stadium rock ballad (I don't think so butI understand why some do ) but heck, I don't run around claiming that those who think in the aforementioned way aren't real fans. That's why I hate the whole fan culture sometimes.2 points

Sorry but this is ridiculous. It's a Green Day song (and clearly one of the band's favourites since they chose to release it as a single and they play it live so much), no less valid to have as a favourite than any of their songs.2 points

I agree, especially the verses are masterful. The chorus is very derivative but I've got used to it by now. Still, when it comes to murdering DJ's I still prefer hanging over shooting1 point

It says Comptoir du Disque and Keep us alive from Billie Joe. It's in a shop in Montpellier in France where Billie went last year when Green Day played Nimes !1 point

Can we not throw personal insults at each other over a song please? When you call people "kids and little girls" (as if there's anything wrong with being a kid or a little girl who enjoys whatever music) for liking a song then that tends to irritate people . All kinds of different people like that song, including Green Day themselves, for all kinds of different reasons. No one said you have to like the song, it's just silly to generalize and judge people based on what songs they like, just as it'd be silly for people to judge you for not liking it.1 point

Or maybe you could stop acting like a douche about people and their liking...1 point
-
Maybe someone really likes music to relax/meditate to , I wouldn't judge! Well the thread would be boring if we didn't discuss each other's opinions . Nothing wrong with disliking the song yourself but judging other people as less deserving fans for liking it seems a bit silly.1 point

Since I'm a collector and a huge fan, I know it myself. J.A.R., Poprocks and Maria came out as promos only. And yes, they were talking about a video for "Prosthetic Head" back then.1 point
