Sorry but this is ridiculous. It's a Green Day song (and clearly one of the band's favourites since they chose to release it as a single and they play it live so much), no less valid to have as a favourite than any of their songs.5 points

Can we not throw personal insults at each other over a song please? When you call people "kids and little girls" (as if there's anything wrong with being a kid or a little girl who enjoys whatever music) for liking a song then that tends to irritate people . All kinds of different people like that song, including Green Day themselves, for all kinds of different reasons. No one said you have to like the song, it's just silly to generalize and judge people based on what songs they like, just as it'd be silly for people to judge you for not liking it.4 points

Now that I have a bass, I've finally learned to play No One Knows. I've been meaning to learn it for over a year, I feel so fucking satisfied right now3 points

To be honest, I do quite like the musical version of 21 Guns, just not the musical versions in general. The Reading version of both these songs were pretty good. Not gonna lie though, I saw so few concert videos from the Trilogy era - maybe those are just the exceptions? Pfft, I've seen you spell 'arse' before. Your transformation is well on the way. Just follow Graham and you'll be fine.3 points

"Of course objective good and bad art exist. The younger generation is so soft. Everyone is good and everyone is lovely even though they are really losers...." Did I do it right ?3 points

It can be found under the name Mother Mary on vinyl on the Foxboro Hot Tubs vinyl3 points

I didn't think there was anything wrong with Billie's singing or their playing of the trilogy songs live. One of those observations that only seems to have been made since Billie's rehab, don't remember there being so much scrutiny or any complaints before . He's never been perfect at singing, listen to him trying to do the 21 Guns falsetto on the 21st CB tour. I don't think's ok for people to insult you or anyone else, that's why I posted to ask for personal insults not to be thrown around in response to the gif Lady Nightlife posted and your reply to it. No one is bothered by your opinion of the song, they're only bothered by your judgement of other fans for liking the song. But in any case you don't need to take it personally, the way this thread works is generally that people post their opinions and others comment to agree or disagree, as long as we're not insulting each other we can do that. And let's stop the transcontinental fighting now please2 points

Yeah, stating an opinion obviously means the same as putting everyone else's opinion down and implying that they are all "kids and little girls who only pretend they like 'rock'n'roll' ", whatever you mean by the term rock'n'roll. I don't like Dos, for example, and I don't particularly dig 1039 SOSH but I don't go around declaring that Todd, who loves their debut album, or Hermione who likes Dos, are somehow not allowed to call themselves fans or only pretend to like "real" music. See the difference?2 points

I love 21 Guns. You can kick me, you can punch me and break my face but you won't change the way I feel Also, it must be noted that different people may have different conceptions of Green Day, and what theyre about etc, and so they may appreciate different things as art is always subjective. And if a song happens to be a popular and well-known, it doesn't necessarily make it a bad song. It's a ridiculous habit of some people to claim that you can't be a fan if you happen to like the hits as well Reminds me of a certain Slovenian guy, in all seriousness. Anyway, telling what is true fandom and what is not is absolutely ridiculous for surely you can't tell others what they're allowed to dig and what not, in order to be cool or hil or something as stupendous. I can understand why some people may not like 21 Guns, it's surely bombastic and the lyrics are sometimes a bit vague and it could be argued that it's generally a bit pretentious, generic stadium rock ballad (I don't think so butI understand why some do ) but heck, I don't run around claiming that those who think in the aforementioned way aren't real fans. That's why I hate the whole fan culture sometimes.2 points

Maybe someone really likes music to relax/meditate to , I wouldn't judge! Well the thread would be boring if we didn't discuss each other's opinions . Nothing wrong with disliking the song yourself but judging other people as less deserving fans for liking it seems a bit silly.2 points

What the fuck happened in here?! Anyway yes 21 Guns is decent but doesn't have much replay value. However, it's one of the best live experiences ever.1 point

I need to rewatch International Supervideos, I'd forgotten about half of them. Also, I listened to AI in full for the first time in ages on the way to my grandparnets yesterday, and it reminded me just how much of an absolute fucking masterpiece it is.1 point

X-Kid and Brutal Love at the Emirates were insanely good, that's when I first started liking X-Kid. Missing You and Stop When The Red Lights Flash were also quite good! I don't get how you can say that they aren't better live. Never saw Let Youself Go live unfortunately but I bet it would be much better live than studio recorded1 point

It's definitely a better song with the AI cast1 point

One thing that is really great about their music is it transcends ages. Their fanbase can go from 6 to 60. So what if a little girl likes 21 guns? Maybe that little girl will then listen to AI or Dookie, etc. A particular song is just an entry to being a fan. It's all good1 point

That's very thoughtful of you. I appreciate your concern for my emotions! <31 point

It's cool to say you don't like a song or album etc But to say someone's not a fan or doesn't know music etc cause they like a certain song isn't cool Not trying to attack you just not cool to insult people No Lukie somehow knows how to like the same post like 5 or 10 times lol1 point

thanks for you all making me feel bad on a tuesday morning... never say that averyboydy that likes 21 Guns are kids or little girls (at least it was not my intention - sometimens is hard to explain myself in a language that is not my original one).. I just came to an "unpopular opinions" thread to say what I think...1 point

Yes they would look great for sure.. but if you felt bad with the purchase sell it to someone else, I dont want them! Make someone else happy with it.. Or keep them but take care of these... And dont lose them!! Well I was in contact with the seller about these things for quite a while.. a short question doesnt kill anyone And I asked so I know it what price range we are talking.. I know sometimes I pay a lot for different items.. so why not asking?1 point

is there anybody else who hates the green day skulls (the ones that had appeared after 21CB era)? to me they looks like childish, almost like the Monsters High cartoon skulls1 point

The Stuck With Me video is great! All who haven't seen it should watch it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fevGo3H5840 Was that a single? I thought it was just going to be (like they talked about it in interviews when Nimrod came out) but then wasn't? I don't think that was a proper single, just promotional or something (I'm sure Todd or someone knows more about these things though)1 point

Punk is a funny thing. Nobody agrees what kind of music it is, and everyone has a different conception of what is real and what is fake punk. Then people go all over nuts and start shitstorms whilst arguing what is real punk and what is not, what is cool and what is not. In the end people concluse it is all about some kind of "attitude" which nobody can determine. Genres are a funny thing in general. Y'all take music too seriously.1 point
