  1. Just listened to Homecoming for the first time in years. Got goosebumps! Pure genius.

  2. No more bickering please. Dead Mermaids is quite funny and the music is decent though not my favourite style. Have to hear more songs first but I don't think it'll ever be up there with most of the others for me just because of the style and also because it's a bit one dimensional, I know Foxboro Hot Tubs is a 60s parody and The Network is an 80s parody but there seems to be more to them than just purely being a silly over the top parody, especially in the lyrics. Foxboro Hot Tubs and Pinhead Gunpowder are the best side projects.

  9. I never said that he did all I meant is that people have posted things that aren't supposed to mean anything but people look far to into them. Not saying its the case just saying its a possibility.

  10. Very highly doubt they do a live album, the only reason to do it at this stage would be to pad their wallets but they don't really need it. The tour was short and unnotable. I'm not gonna pretend I know what he meant with the post, but if it was intended as some sort of foreshadowing of things to come then a live album wouldn't even make sense in that context, because that's not new and it isn't something they would be actively working on.

  11. Sorry if this was posted before... Green Day's cover of "I Fought the Law" is partially in the movie "St. Vincent" (with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy)

  16. "Stoned" is used almost exclusively (as far as I know) to describe someone who's on weed, whereas "fucked up" is just a catch-all phrase for someone who's...well, fucked up.

  18. I think Paper Lanterns was the song he "hey-ohhed" in the most, found an example at 5:20 here (or start watching at 4:25 if you want to see some entertaining kinkiness first ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5dQPN460M0

  19. Todd's original disagreeing post wasn't rude, it's pretty obvious he doesn't really mean it's seriously not okay to like some songs on an album and that he was saying so lightheartedly. As long as people aren't being nasty to each other/making things personal it's fine to disagree about music. The conversations's got a bit off track so it'd probably be best to get back to Green Day questions now. He was doing it on the Dookie tour, pretty much as soon as they were playing in big arenas I think. I'll find a video of it when I get the chance. I love seeing early videos of him doing that , he did it in such a sarcastic but also silly and playful way back then. Nice way of poking fun at the idea of being rockstars playing in a big venue but also just genuinely having fun and involving the crowd.
