It's 5 years since I saw Foxboro Hot Tubs in London (technically, since the show started at 1am on the 2nd) and I feel all nostalgic and want to say I'm so glad GDC exists because otherwise I never would've seen such a great show with such great people . Been having fun watching a load of videos from the show and just noticed my frizzy beer soaked hair in this one haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ8MFsinlfw3 points

I've taken to mentally categorizing albums by ideal time to listen to them (the things I do instead of actually focusing on my schoolwork...). For Green Day, here's what I got: Spring: 39/Smooth, Kerplunk, Uno Midsummer: Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod Late Summer/Autumn: Warning, Stop Drop and Roll, Dos Late Autumn/Winter: American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown, Tre There really isn't ever an ideal time to listen to Dos, but I had to put it somewhere.3 points

2009 they did East Jesus Nowhere, Billie ran down the walkways and then got the crowd up onto the stage. In 2012 they performed (which they released as a single that day or the day before) on the floor then they called the crowd to join them. Both of them were pretty similar.3 points

ah well I thought it would be more expensive, too. There was one in ebay a few months ago: starting bid $500 and buy it now option $1000. THAT was expensive damn.. I also got something even better because of buying this 7". Will post pictures when it arrives.. 'the other thing'2 points

Again, I just fucking love that song. I have no real concrete arguments as to why, other than it's catchy as hell, fun, not overplayed and I enjoy the lyrics/message very much.2 points

It's not that I dislike the Longview bassline. Obviously it's epic. But it's also lethargic and repetitive. Sassafras Roots has real power, a ton of energy, a lot of variety and is just the most fun thing in the history of the world to play. On a technical level it's unquestionably better than Longview. Plus it's a lot more melodic.2 points

Nothing is superior to the bassline of Longview2 points

This probably has been said before but the oh love video is seriously the worst thing GD have ever produced - I am embarrassed to watch it - that's probably why it has had so many hits on youtube.2 points

I always say they need to bring back the runway - also pretty sure 21st CB tour in australia he did a semi circle run in the crowd - at acer arena he got into the crowd & I remember he fell off the stage once - but I don't know where that was.2 points

Must've been disappointing, but if it's any comfort there's no way you would've been let in as a 12 year old (it was over 18s only and everyone had to have ID, and Tre accurately described the show as being "more beer than air" afterwards), so there's nothing you could've done. I almost didn't go myself because to do so I had to get the train to London the morning after the show was announced not sure if I'd get a ticket or have somewhere to stay afterwards, but thanks to GDCers and other Green Day friends convincing me I risked it, and at the last minute my sister decided to as well and joined me at the train station just in time, all very dramatic lol, and it all worked out from there. So glad I went for it. Hopefully they'll play again one day once you're 18!1 point

Ditto, I'd rather not see it or for it to be spoilered. Nothing even remotely attractive about a person struggling, suffering and breaking down in public.1 point

Nimrod has always been my favorite to listen to while driving, myself. It became my go-to album driving to and from fencing every Saturday morning.1 point

I find that the energy levels of AI, 21st CB and BIAB are perfect for long car drives. They keep me awake1 point

I don't get why it isn't more loved, it's utter perfection.1 point

I have over twenty Green Day songs in my iTunes library, so yeah, you could say I'm a pretty big fan1 point

He did it a lot during Know Your Enemy on the Breakdown tour. At the first of the two shows I saw on that tour he was like three feet away from me.1 point

The bassline of Sassafras Roots is infinitely superior to that of Longview. Discuss.1 point

Consider it my vicarious revenge for Tom ruining AI for me. Seriously though, sorry. At least we still have the AAF version!1 point

I recently purchased the Minority 7" single in teal. I'm actually incredibly impressed with the condition of it, seeing as I got it on eBay for less than twenty dollars including shipping and handling.1 point

they said that they found some copies of the clear vinyl and put on sale for Us$ 10. I got one too1 point

I just recieved my copy of "Nobody Likes You" by Marc Spitz and it says that on that day Billie had to do paperwork regarding his community service for DUI conviction and Tre was in process of divorce, meeting with layers. Mike was left alone in the studio and came up with "nobody likes you" part, and East 12th St is about Billie doing his DUI paperwork cause apparently Oakland police office is there. And we all know about Tres' part. No idea if the whole thing about that particular day is true but it sounds like a nice story.1 point
