  2. People who don't listen to a song that's so magnificent as East Jesus Nowhere do not deserve any credit.

  3. Guys! I finally got a picture with Billie! I met Billie, Mike, and Tre breifly after they did GMA for Kill the DJ, but they didn't speak and barely signed a picture for me. It was literally only 3 of us at MTV studios, and they were not very nice. FINALLY, I got a picture and had a nice moment with him last week. He was rehearsing for the Little Kids Rock event, and I only found out the night before and panicked. He was so cute and called me sweetie and signed two of my CDs in the rain. Ughhh I forgot how much I absolutely adore him!

  4. If you are referring to George with the throat scratching stuff, I will give it to you. I never heard him do any type of song like Oh Darling. I still think George was the technically better vocalist. But, I think Billie can handle Oh Darling. Just to add a random thought, my all time favorite Beatles song, is a George Harrison song, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I've got a real soft spot for George, he was overshadowed by John and Paul, but was just as talented (I think more talented than Paul).

  5. Gah, I'd say BOBD based on the first two but it doesn't really sum up an album. Neither does Good Riddance, my second choice. Haha... I should've just said BOBD without any stipulations. I feel like GD has a habit of often picking singles that are outliers to an album, which makes sense I guess, given that the true fans are going to pick up the album anyway. May as well attract some new ones with a slightly different sound.

  6. BBC radio 1 sessions is one of my favourite things GD have done - it pissing me off though when zane Lowe congratulates them saying best thing they have done then in the next breath basically says he has just got the disc

  8. I just want them to do something. Anything. At this point I want to see them live again far more than I want new music.

  10. I wouldn't say George was necessarily more talented musically than Paul, Paul was pretty awesome songwriter in his prime and really mastered his instrument, but George was definitely as good as Paul or John as a songwriter. Still, George is my personal favourite, not only because of his music, but because his personality http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/97307-the-sixties-club By the way, we really shouldn't spam this thread with this stuff. If anyone feels the need to continue, you're all welcome to continue it in the Sixties Club-thread

  11. I was referring to Billie. I just don't think he can handle it for sustained periods of time. Paul is my favorite. He had the weakest solo career, but his stuff with the Beatles is consistently their best, and he was without a doubt their most versatile. Have you heard the Love version of WMGGW? Far superior to the studio version.

  12. George! He was the most talented of them, but not the type to show off.

  13. True, played down the phone I believe . They do have that dirty Christmas album they recorded while making American Idiot tucked away somewhere though, maybe there's some acoustic tracks on there haha. Speaking of albums Green Day should make, I still think they should make an album of Beatles covers. Billie's voice would sound so good singing Beatles songs and I will forever wish for this.

  16. The White Stripes' colour scheme was focused on red and white just with some black allowed while Green Day's was focused on red and black just with some white allowed anyway. Not even really the same colour scheme.

  18. Yeah Kay hates us for that entire project really. It brought up too many painful memories of when she was married to NimJim. Speaking of Springsteen, he should cover 21st Century Breakdown. It'd be perfect.

  19. Indeed. I have my driving playlist aligned so that the live recording of Nightwish's "Dark Chest of Wonders" with Floor Jenson segues seamlessly into "Going to Pasalacqua" and the combined epicness gives me a little thrill every time.

  22. So I'm playing the AAF version of "Going to Pasalacqua" on our common room's speaker, and one of the people sitting here with me just asked "What language is this in?" Good to know that whatever country I'm in, Billie's vocals will still be incoherent.

  26. After giving it a bit of thought, I think the reason why I tolerate (okay I'll be honest - enjoy) Baby Eyes but loathe The Forgotten - though I consider both to showcase nonsensical lyrics - is because Baby Eyes is upbeat. Maybe a pretty stupid reason, but I'm the type of person who's ready to forgive poor or nonsensical lyrics if the song can distract me from them. And that's where slow, dramatic songs like The Forgotten - where I tend to focus on what's being said - fail. If JoS didn't have any grammatical oddities it would be too perfect for this world and the balance of nature will be thrown into chaos out of the sheer awesomeness. So just consider that one line the thing which enables that song to exist without any ill effects in this universe. (I don't know what I'm talking about. Again.)

  27. If it weren't for the unfortunate line "And I could really care less" Jesus of Suburbia would be an absolutely perfect piece of music.
