  1. so many of the demolicious recording are just so much better, when I listen back to the studio versions, it really makes me ask why they changed it? Its just so much more Green Day. It sounds...beautiful haha?

  2. That would take away the impact of when he does go up the last time he sings it. I think he's taking the piss! Putting on a snotty voice in imitation of how people (sometimes including himself) whinge about the old scene being gone. He makes legitimate complaints about the loss of it in the song but I like to think he's also acknowledging that hanging on to it and resisting change too much can be a negative/lame thing.

  4. So would it unpopular to say that Kerplunk! and Nimrod are far superior to Dookie, or would that get me in trouble with this most upstanding community?

  6. We've closed the old Random Green Day News thread and here's a shiny new one. This time, please only use this thread to post the most teeny tiny, insignificant, truly "random" news, stuff that wouldn't get more than a couple of posts in response. Unless it fits that description, always make a thread for it! There's always room for new threads and we'd like to see lots of them being made so that more people hear about new articles, interviews, cool things etc and there's more space to discuss them. To recap, if in doubt don't post here, make a thread. Thank you Also please note: When posting an article don't just post a link with no description of what it is. Make sure to always include a few words to describe what the article is about and why Green Day is mentioned in it. Last but not least credit to @crock6000 for inventing and creating the original Random Green Day News thread

  8. Ah, right. "Suffocate" was on 'Good Riddance', too. Kinda misleading, yeah. But that's why we're here to help you get your facts straight^^

  9. "Suffocate", "Scumbag" and "Outsider" were released on the 'Warning' singles. "Scumbag" was also on the 'American Pie 2' soundtrack. All released the year before 'Shenanigans'. So only "Ha Ha You're Dead" was completely new. EDIT: "Suffocate" was also on the 'Good Riddance' single and on the Australian release of 'Nimrod' from 1998.

  12. The drumming is so much more interesting on the Rusty James demo too. I like how Tré goes onto the ride cymbal on the chorus like he does in the old songs.

  15. That joke never gets old, does it? And a pile of shit is generally better than the trilogy, so sorry if I was a bit slow in comprehending your implications.

  16. I had to go back and listen to it again... and I still don't know what's wrong with it! I like the contrast between the calm "where the hell is the old gang at" line in the first verse and the shouting tone of that line in the second verse. That being said, it does come off as him trying to be a bit of a hard ass and failing. I'm sure if you took the music out and it was acappella, it'd be laughable. I never realized Demolicious kept them both calm though. Interesting. I wonder why they changed it?

  17. I've always hated the delivery on the last line of the second verse in Rusty James. Like what the fuck are you doing Billie?

  23. Sex drugs and violence, 99 revolutions, angel blue, missing you and baby eyes are far better on Demolicious in my honest opinion

  29. New album news for 2014? http://en.mediamass.net/people/green-day/new-album.html According to a source, rumors of Green Day (Billie Joe Armstrong, ed) working in recording studio are true, with as many as eight songs having been put to tape. “It’s still in the early stages,” “They got security on the doors to ensure no-one hears a whisper,” a source said.

  31. I'm quite sure Billie farted at some point, within the last 2 hours. I felt in my soul. If that ain't news, I don't know what is. Also, I've been seeing posters all over Oslo, Billie's face is everywhere. I'll try to steal one and upload a decent picture later.
