I feel bad for anyone that thinks Road to Acceptance is filler. It's just about impossible to justify. The song has an anti-racism, anti-prejudice theme, along with a sick bass line. And if the song was just filler, Green Day wouldn't have played it constantly up through their Insomniac tour. That's a song that they wanted people to hear. Same reason why they'd play Resolution by Fifteen during the bridge of Paper Lanterns. Not only to give a shoutout to their fellow east bay punk band, but to spread the anti-hate theme.6 points

Just saw an old interview from when UNO came out. Billie says this line: "And then there's songs like Nuclear Family where I'm just like, I just write this shit and I don't even know what it means sometimes." Sounds about right, Billie.4 points

It's so great! I already loved it just from reading one line of it ("I always waste my time just wondering what the next man thinks of me/I'll never do exactly what I want and I'll sculpt my life for your acceptance") in a Green Day biography, before I had the internet and realized it would ever actually be possible to find/hear the album. Lived up to expectations when I did as well, it's probably my favourite of the 39/Smooth songs. Love all the aspects of it that have been mentioned and the song as a whole.3 points

Top 20 for me, no question. One of Billie's most sophisticated rhyme schemes.3 points

^In the End, Brat, All the Time and Hold On are awesome. And I know Christian's Inferno is filler but I love it anyway.3 points

She was IN Cuatro playing ping pong with the band. Just because she doesn't mention them in every interview she does hardly means her love for them has abated. The girl is a die-hard for LYFE, yo.3 points

Aye, we must cast off the shackles of our lackeyship, remove ourselves from the act of leaping upon his erect and bloody-crimson genitals, and rise up! The proletariat of GDC shall have a new dawn, a rising era of self-representation and self-perpetuation! For what is the rule of law but the rope of the noose about our necks?2 points

For if no form of concealment can stop the despotic travesty of an admin whose power has become excessively voluminous, and simultaneously his feeling of his own omnipotence has become unbearable, I proclaim that we need a vigorous revolt against that damned hand of destruction.2 points

Kerplunk isn't my favorite Green Day album by any means, but how can you say only two or three songs are catchy? "Welcome to Paradise", "2000 LYA", "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield", "80", "One of My Lies"; even "Christie Road", which I've made known as being, IMO, overrated, is insanely catchy. Not to mention "Dominated Love Slave" is Tre's best song.2 points

I remember I once liked the Forgotten..... then I sobered up He could be using "stone" as a refrence to The Rock. Billie is looking for forgiveness from Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson as he lied to him about dieting or something.?2 points

possible unpopular opinion: 1,039 smoothed out slappy hours is the catchiest green day album melody wise. newer albums may seem catchier to most people, because they are more beat driven and have some recognizeable riffs... but the melodies? probably at their best on 1,039 smoothed out slappy hours (going to pasalaqua, paper lanterns, why do you want him, dry ice, only of you, i want to be alone...).1 point

Seriously if you take a look at the topic titles on the News forum, how many of those news are actually about Green Day as a band? Bilie acting in a film, Tre becoming a viking-convert, and so on. Besides, I would have no intention of leaving, since someone must keep on belabouring that painful song collection generally known as Dos. And also, more importantly, I'd like to think I have made too many great acquaintances here to be able to just leave. That said, there is not a single real proof that they actually are breaking up and these false rumours Nim Jim constantly spreads are getting very tiresome.1 point

I never realized how good-looking GDC is until now. THANK YOU, BASED ANDRES.1 point

It would probably end up like Shawshank Redemption, with all the GDCers having to leave and face the rest of the internet/world, feeling lost and struggling to fit in.1 point

I can't believe I went through that again after the Doctor Who thread. Aside from Ashley, Rest and In The End, you've listed a lot of brilliant songs there. Especially All The Time. That's fantastic.1 point

I agree with Kerplunk being their second best album. Apart from AI and Kerplunk, every Green Day album has at least one filler song: 1039 SOSH: Rest, Road to Acceptance Dookie: In The End Insomniac: Brat, Tight Wad Hill Nimrod: All The Time, Jinx Warning: Fashion Victim, Hold On 21st CB: Christian's Inferno Uno: Carpe Diem Dos: Ashley, Baby Eyes, Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Lady Cobra Tre: Little Boy Named Train Not saying I hate any of those songs, but they all have a filler vibe about them. On the other hand, I don't think Kerplunk has any filler, apart from Dominated Love Slave which is a joke song anyway.1 point
