I am sick of oversexualisation of the society and describing sex as the ultimate reward, health device, key to happiness and whatever. Seriously, media, fuck off. In this context, it's even more offensive.3 points

Rotting's lyrics are the closest Green Day has ever got to being gothic I'd say. And I like it.2 points

Tonight at work, a guy playing guitar at the bar was covering When I Come Around. He forget the lyrics to the second part of the first verse so I yelled them out to get him back on track2 points

At least that's at the start of one of the best songs on the Trilogy1 point

Anyone else thinks guitar on Rotting has a little bit of harp-ish sound?1 point

I think it's the opposite, her posts would suggest she thinks it's crap that isn't worth taking seriously (and I agree!)1 point

I wouldn't worry, I'd say the fact you said it indicates it's just your opinion of which is best just fine, you were clearly just making a recommendation.1 point

She does co owns Adieline Records so there is she is an executive producer of records1 point
-
That was the only problem you had with that? The whole thing was a fail..."successful designer" is more than a stretch and since when was she a "record producer"?! It's just some catchy lines thrown together for the kids to be impressed by these "girlfriends" who are hereby declared cool. Pathetically I've even seen comments on facebook of "she's banging the lead singer of Green Day cool!!" so I guess that had it's intended affect.1 point

You hadn't heard it before? I'd been blasting out the Red 7 version since November 2011, and then the Echoplex version was great quality, that came out in August 2012. You waited until september? I think the studio version from the music video was already out when they played on GMA. You were pretty far behind1 point

#TBT Green Day - Leeds Festival 2001 It's Leeds and Reading Festival this weekend, I have many fond memories from the eleven August Bank Holiday Weekends spent in fields in both camps, this was my first. My first festival experience. My first time I was blown away by a band, I can still remember it, probably more clearly than many festival experiences since. It was a great introduction to something that became my summer life for over ten years. Camping for four nights, spending days in muddy fields doesn't appeal to me now, aged twenty seven but as a teen I was in my element. A holiday abroad, sunning it up on a beach, no thanks, I wanted to get lairy with my mates and watch some of my favourite bands, it became a tradition ended by 'old' age. http://abolishconfusion.blogspot.co.uk/ The most talked-about moments in VMA history 1998: Green Day’s Tré Cool scales the Universal Globe Green Day drummer Tré Cool lived up to his name when he skipped out in the middle of an interview to climb the Universal Studios Globe, something highly illegal but highly complimented. When Cool returned to the interview, Kurt Loder asked him why he did it. “I haven’t broken anything for, like, six hours,” Cool responded with a laugh. http://music-mix.ew.com/2014/08/21/mtv-video-music-awards-watercooler-moments/1 point

Green Day names an album in tribute to an idea fans came up with on GDC and people aren't happy about it now?! What is the world coming to? Like really, at one show some fans held up signs that said "thank you" during Good Riddance, and someone here posted that at the next show people should hold up signs that said "awesome as fuck" instead, and a plan was formed. People did it (I think Abby and Beth made them and they and a whole bunch of people in the pit held them up), and the band was so pleased they tweeted about it....and then named the album from the tour after it! I don't know how it could be more appropriate, their shows are all about having fun and not taking themselves too seriously, and involving the fans in the crowd and not putting themselves above them. The title of the album flawlessly encapsulates that while referring to an incident that happened during the tour it was recorded on. It's perfect! As well as what I posted above about the reason for the title, I don't think the phrase itself is meant to be about not giving a fuck or to be shocking at all, it's just a way of saying the tour was "really awesome" (meant in a totally tongue in cheek way).1 point

The more i listen to demolicious the more i think songs from the trilogy could have been made into the 4th or 5th best green day album ever if they got the sound and production right. Maybe that's not so unpopular because several people think demolicious compares well with insomniac, kerplunk, and nimrod as a demo.1 point

I think the weight was simply apart of it. They looked old and uninspired. When AI came around they were a completely different band in the eyes of the public. The weight loss, eye liner, hair dye, black wardrobe, and stage presence were all equally apart of the rebirth of GD. Of course that has nothing to do with the quality of the music, but I can guarantee that the public IS that shallow1 point

My favourite moment of Billie forgetting lyrics is from the Fritz Radio show where some guy called David requested The Grouch and the second verse was "The wife's a nag and the kid's fucking up, David comes and I don't know the words..."1 point

They chose to announce Awesome as F**k right when I was trying to convince my parents that the band wasn't immature and gratuitously profane. Well played, Green Day, well played.1 point
