  3. American Idiot never gets boring, I've heard the song so many times but it's so cleverly written and extremely important in Green Days career.

  9. I think you'll find that numerous people, Praxus included, have explained their dislike of the Trilogy multiple times. Something you've never done with AI.

  10. Ever heard about a thing called subjectivity? Even though Todd is a dirty hipster, he has a right to his opinion and at least he doesn't call everyone else fake fans

  11. Nope. It's my all time favorite. I love Dookie and Kerplunk and American Idiot. But I'm 16, I relate to 39/Smooth probably a lot better than adults do. And I'm sure I'll outgrow it for that reason, but for now I want to enjoy it while I can.

  13. Can I just say there's nothing wrong with not liking AI and thinking it's not good, based on the music. That's personal preference/opinion. It's just the reasons given (such as not liking AI fans, or claiming that "fuck Bush" was a mainstream thing), and your acting as if other people are at fault for liking it that people are disagreeing with. Just want to point out no one's saying you have to like the album

  14. That's very true of earlier albums but I think the American Idiot ones are pretty accurate. Could be wrong but I don't know of any differences there like I do with a lot of the others. And even if it was "alien nation" that'd still clearly be intended to bring the word "alienation" to mind anyway, either way it's word play where two phrases that sound the same are being referred to so in this particular case it doesn't really matter which it is.

  17. I think it's because the sound of the song sounds a lot more like Dos than Drama Queen does. That song would have been so out of place on Dos.

  18. I think there's only one Billie. Dos just shows off some of his dark fantasy/mid-life crisis feelings. I like how honest and raw those feelings are, I wouldn't consider it disrespectful to anyone.

  20. It says alienation in the booklet. I think it's meant to be heard both ways though, so there's a double meaning where he's saying the US a nation where people feel alienated and also that it can be a weird, "alien" nation.

  22. Had to read it just to see if anything was wrong . And it was: #3 They weren't "known as Green Day" in 1987 #8 John Lydon said that when American Idiot came out, not Dookie #9 Not sure how the two albums following Dookie going platinum and then the next album not doing so well 6 years after Dookie came out is evidence of hard times "following the breakthrough success of Dookie" #11 Money Money 2020 came out in 2003 #15 That was 21st Century Breakdown not American Idiot #16 They played as Foxboro Hot Tubs before 21st CB not Uno Dos and Tre. The secret shows they played to prep for Uno Dos and Tre were as Green Day Also #2 can be ascertained just by reading #1 and knowing how old the band members are. Poor effort overall, you could find out most of this stuff just reading their Wikipedia page, and it'd be more accurate.

  24. In reference to somebody's post about Chump up there, the lyrics are spectacular. They do not deserve to be lumped in with KYE's. You're the cloud hanging out over my head Hail comes crashing down welting my face MAGIC MAN,EGOCENTRIC PLASTIC MAN Yet you still get one over on me I think they're great.
