Had to read it just to see if anything was wrong . And it was: #3 They weren't "known as Green Day" in 1987 #8 John Lydon said that when American Idiot came out, not Dookie #9 Not sure how the two albums following Dookie going platinum and then the next album not doing so well 6 years after Dookie came out is evidence of hard times "following the breakthrough success of Dookie" #11 Money Money 2020 came out in 2003 #15 That was 21st Century Breakdown not American Idiot #16 They played as Foxboro Hot Tubs before 21st CB not Uno Dos and Tre. The secret shows they played to prep for Uno Dos and Tre were as Green Day Also #2 can be ascertained just by reading #1 and knowing how old the band members are. Poor effort overall, you could find out most of this stuff just reading their Wikipedia page, and it'd be more accurate.5 points

AI Insomniac 21st Century Breakdown Nimrod (could be switched with 21st) Warning Dookie Kerplunk ¡Tre! ¡Uno! 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours ¡Dos! Is the correct way to list the GD albums2 points

It's a nice butt, but that isn't a nice view of it Edit: Epic page own2 points

They were poor and studio time is expensive, so the fact they a) chose to record Rest and b) do so at such a slow tempo is inherently illogical2 points

I think he missed the part where you clearly explained that Rest = butt.2 points

I'm assuming you have to be as high as they were when they recorded it to appreciate it2 points

1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours 21st Century Breakdown American Idiot Dookie Insomniac Kerplunk Nimrod Warning ¡Dos! ¡Tre! ¡Uno!1 point

My (maybe) unpopular opinions: "Stuck With Me" is their best song and their most underrated song. "21 Guns" is their worst song. 'Insomniac' is the best Green Day album. "21st Century Breakdown", "East Jesus Nowhere", "Peacemaker", "Murder City", and "American Euology" are the only good songs on 21CB. (And maybe "The Static Age") And here's what I think of the albums: 1. Insomniac 2. Kerplunk! 3. Dookie 4. Nimrod 5. Dos! 6. 39/Smooth 7. American Idiot (I know...) 8. Warning 9. Uno! 10. Tré! 11. 21st Century Breakdown1 point

I'm probably a bad fan if I admit that but I always thought American Idiot goes "All across the alien nation" instead of "all across the alienation. I'm a bit disappointed.1 point

Yeah. I think the context matters quite a lot, not just to Rest but to all the songs on that album. If they made that song now it wouldn't be so good but in the context of stoned and love struck teenagers playing their hearts out on a limited budget (and during a time when 80s rock ballads that were way more cheesy and melodramatic were on the radio) it has a lot more charm.1 point

I think itd be pretty cool acoustic actually1 point

Not when the content implies it should be fast.1 point
-
I honestly don't get why Rest is so bad? Don't people like slow songs?1 point
-
I actually think the cooler part is the fans actually singing Going to Pasalacqua a bit. Most of their early shows don't seem to have fans that sing a long much. Cool to see1 point

I used to HATE Rest but now I think it's one of the chillest songs they have. I'm assuming that's unpopular because I remember a bunch of people saying a while back they thought it was the most boring GD song ever.1 point

He's just like "why are they doing this to me?" and I can't really blame him1 point

There is a green day bootleg called "Nize Crap" which features some unique and recordings with questionable authenticity, to say the least. That's where the title came from1 point

I am/was kinda like that with the Trilogy. When it first came out, I loved it, cos it was new Green Day material. I went through a period of about two or three months where I loved the Trilogy - like every song - but then I came back to GDC. I then realised why it was so bad (for the most part, anyway). Now, the only emotion the Trilogy stirs in me is nostalgia for the time when I thought it was brilliant, except for the few songs that I actually really like.1 point

The funny thing about the Oh Love video is Jason Whites presence. He's like seen in two shots and stands there awkwardly, I actually feel a bit sorry for him haha.1 point
-
True, but it's not worth listening to the worst song they've ever done for the sake of that. On the topic of the Oh Love video, I only just got around to watching the full version the other day, and I was pretty gobsmacked. It's very un-Green Day, arguably misogynistic and just kind of baffling really. I never realised they were Robin Thicke. So there's a moral dilemma.1 point

Dunno if anyone has seen this, you can only hear Mikes vocals at some points, pretty cool1 point

Hah, I didn't realize what thread I was in and thought this was a general statement not related to Green Day.1 point

I didn't like the amount of times Billie used the word fuck on Uno or Dos, rather I think the amount of fucks he gave on Tre was just right.1 point
