While we're talking about lyrics, it's worth mentioning nimrod; easily some of Billie's best.3 points
-
Would it be wrong of me to say that Nimrod has the best production out of all of their albums. The bass is fat and warm. The guitar has a lot of punch and bite without overpowering the bass, and the drum kit has tons of punch and aggression without being overly bright or compressed. The vocals also sit nicely in the mix.3 points

Listened to Insomniac earlier and some of my favourite lyrics came from Bab's Uvula Who: 'RNGJSNJSNOE84*y*£JIFMKMDFKLSDFKJKJANNUMALLWOUNDUP' 'MISWEFNEF38198*"U80e-2nIFEL'BWEJSNFJAKEPANNICATAAAHHK' 'IFJKASOFNJAJEFU)U£E£FLKM{KFPOK!LKD)!ANMABBLUPRESSUREIZEEEEEEEYYEE'2 points

i have to admit i've literally never realized that i had no idea what he was saying there; i guess i just went with it. but yeah, good lyrics. i feel like insomniac is really underrated1 point

Oo slipped that in there. I think it's 2nd. AI's lyrics, especially in the context of the era, have to be first. Holiday, AI, JOS, and BOBD are all legend-level lyrical works IMO. No Pride is so damn good lyrically but people don't seem to notice b/c Billie slurs so hard in it. I've panhandled for a life because I'm not afraid to beg Hand me down your lost and founds Of second hand regret Genius^ (as is the rest of it)1 point

Yeah, Insomniac has great lyrics. No Pride, Panic Song, even Brain Stew "past the point of delirium" is pretty cool!1 point

It's official: Insomniac is the band's attempt to sing in complete gibberish.1 point

How..? It's musically one of the best things they've ever done. Very simple but it's an awesome arrangement.1 point

beat me to it but yeah literally what the hell1 point

I think Panic song contains Green Days best lyrics. And I always thought the "I wanna drop out" part was referring to him leaving the world or escaping from it. But c'mon how can you not enjoy " There's a plague inside of me, eating at my disposition"1 point
-
Good point, the chorus is "the world is a sick machine" etc.1 point

Stuart and the Ave is the best on Insomniac, but that's not difficult.1 point

I have been slowly but steadily approaching the point when I'm ready to state that in my opinion Westbound Sign is the absolute highlight of Insomniac. Don't ask me why, but that song affects me quite a lot.1 point

Just hearing it now, I thought it was just the cymbals it's from about 0.48 onwards, mostly when the full band comes in. Lazy bones is probably one of my favourite songs from the trilogy. It would be amazing acoustic, just with Billie singing but I doubt it'd happen1 point

But we can't all use the Regulars Club yet, can we?1 point
