  1. Utter tripe! Out of the hundreds of popular bands who have actually disappeared why the fuck would they put three bands who haven't (Green Day, Muse and Kings Of Leon) on a list of four? They also call Boulevard Of Broken Dreams "Lonely Road". Can't remember the last time I read a worse article.

  2. Plot twist: disliking Rest is actually the unpopular opinion

  3. So what we've got from this is that DookieLukie objects to black people saying nigger. It's still off topic though. Someone should make a rap education thread and get WhiteTim and Hermione to run it. I'm serious.

  4. Take Back has always been widely hated here (even before this thread) and I'm not sure why really, I know it's different but it's great, I love the biting lyrics and it's cool to hear them experiment by going a bit hardcore just for a minute. Even better in the varied and experimental context of Nimrod. I think it sounds good! Instead of going for a genuinely scary sound like a death metal band or something he made it more of a angry snarl, so instead of being menacing he just sounds wound up and bitter, which I think suits him and the lyrics. I think he could but I'm not sure if he would. If it was a metaphor about Adrienne's beautiful chestnut brown eyes or something then yeah, but the idea of him referring to his own eyes in such a poetic/romantic/complimentary way seems a bit weird.

  5. It's high time someone's actually posted an unpopular opinion here, and I'm gonna do it: I. LIKE. REST. Yes, I said it.

  6. I disapprove of you using my "no" to say that . Rest is extremely cheesy of course but I think it's sweet and charming considering the age they were and that there were a LOT more cheesy and less heartfelt rock ballads around at that time. And the music is cool.

  7. Yeah actually I'd be delighted and amused if Green Day played Take Back instead of something like WMUWSE (though its better song) Or if they started with the acoustic beginning of WMUWSE and when tge distorted guitar should enter they would started to perform Take Back. Just because.

  8. you've created a monster, now everyone is gonna pick strangeland! (except me, im still with 2000 LYA)

  9. Honestly though that metaphor-no matter what it means- turns that song from lyrically average (I mean fine but kinda generic) to lyrically good. That metaphor does catch your attention. Though I'm no way criticising the other lyrics of that song - it would still be an amazing song, but that one line makes it spectacular. And unusual.

  11. That was my parents' justification for not letting me see Green Day, so be careful, you could be crushing your future child's dreams. Just sayin'.

  14. Bullshit. Just last year they broke the Emirates Stadium's record for most tickets sold for a music gig. Yeah, we all know that and I didn't really need to say it, but I was annoyed.

  17. Yeah, I play my music around my favorite brother all the time, I got him singing Brass Monkey, but he's falling really hard for country music, I might have to change plans and go for my other brother instead

  21. That's technically not an opinion. If you like it, that's a fact.

  22. Good, maybe Green Day would play it live, even if you don't particularly like the song, you have to admit that'd be an amazing event. Although it was probably played real early in 87/88, there's no report that it was ever played live at all. And you're still WhiteTim, don't forget that!

  23. Yeah but you're still Todd so that makes it automatically wrong lol

  24. And I still prefer my own opinions over yours. Though you must be congratulated that honestly is an unpopular opinions. So sincerily I praise your originality. Hipsters

  26. I see your point, but he couldn't just write: "she holds my green eyes so tight so..."; it wouldn't sound good and it'd lose its mystery part, which we are all speculating about now. It's not that he wanted to compliment himself, but rather search for a more poetic way to say something special. Or maybe he'd given Adrienne a malachite stone and wanted to say she incredibly liked it, but it's far better to think it the way we do

  27. Well, this thread is really magical in a weird way in that every 'unpopular' opinion posted here gets popular. Hell, I'll bet if I say I hate Green Day that will become a popular opinion, if it isn't already. Speaking of which, I guess if someone in this thread said they liked the Trilogy then everyone will start to praise it. Or maybe there's a limit to the magic after all.

  29. People who cover the Final Countdown are fucked up anyway. If I should choose one song whose very existence I could erase, I would choose that one. It is absolutely horrid.

  33. It was more of a general statement, don't worry about it But yeah. I literally don't understand how anyone could enjoy Rest. Even if you take away the fact it's far too slow (which can be fixed up in Audacity) it's just a mess. Please, share it. You look like an asshole anyway

  34. No, not really I can't even come up with a good unpopular opinion that doesn't make me look like an asshole. Yes there was, you were talking about popular opinions

  38. I just split the Sweet Children songs off on iTunes and gave 'em their own artwork, so they're separate from the album. Speaking of Kerplunk, time to drag this one out again: Christie Road is overrated. Is it really good? Of course. Is it one of their best? Hell, it's not even the best on Kerplunk by a wide margin.
