Judging from this thread this is an unpopular opinion: I like the trilogy. I mean, it's not their best work, and some of the songs aren't to great, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it bad.

That honestly does bother me, though. Not only does Mike get put on the shittiest of the three albums, he doesn't even get two pictures!

^I'm not saying that songs about girls are bad, just that writing a whole record of them when you'd previously explored other themes too is unfortunate.

Thanks! It doesn't, like I said, but still interesting to know if he contributed to writing on the albums (or contributed enough to be credited for it at least). Because being the fourth member of the band doesn't mean he has to play the exact same/equal role in the band as the other three members.

All the excitement of being alone on an album cover would be too much for Jason. Even being together with the band on Cuatro made his heart flutter a little too hard. In all seriousness, they probably realized he's nowhere near recognizable enough to put solely on the cover of something.

I usually do the period after Nimrod. I tried the Warning colon but it just looks bad.

last night/ this morning I was quite high and I listened to most of the trilogy and I have to say I can understand why Green Day were so excited about it and thought it was great. Its just fun, they didn't really try to make a bold statement and the guitars are really great which I bet is owed a lot to Jason. I think the trilogy has some of the best solos of their career. But seriously its great music to just enjoy, its not overly thought provoking or hardcore. Its fun. And from their perspective I bet they were super excited by this new direction and all the songs and what not, I bet they had fun making it. I've always thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy but I finally appreciate it for what its meant to be, which isn't much. But there are quite a few duds and I hate the "Carried Away" part of DRB, even though the song does sound like they were very carried away. And when I first heard it I hated the chorus to Ashley but now its one of my favorites and IMO one of the best from the trilogy. And DOS is by far the best, again IMO

christian's inferno is better than 95% of the songs on the trilogy and is in no way the worst song on 21cb

Not exactly the same, but I love that they're so easy to sing along with . So many bands sing too high or low for me to comfortably join in with but Billie's range is perfect.

Good thing the band don't make their decisions based on what you grew up with, then. He's been with them full time since the Warning tour, and I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon.
