  1. Yes, his voice still sounds the same, but as a singer he has improved a lot. Especially when singing live. Nowadays he is much more versatile singer than when they did Dookie and Imsomniac. And nowadays sometimes you even can comprehend what he is singing

  2. His voice was definitely more raw and "punk" in the 90s, which obviously really suited the music. These days he's got a far better voice on a technical level, which means he can do things like Restless Heart Syndrome as well as the old stuff very, very well. I was watching the Zane Lowe session where they did Before The Lobotomy a few days ago and I was just blown away by Billie's voice.

  3. From NME. 33 Lesser-Known Classic Albums From Bands You Love 2 of 33: Green Day - Nimrod. 'Dookie' is, of course, Green Day's 'Nevermind'. The band's 1994 breakout was an enormous success and took away attention from the following records 'Insomniac' and the experimental 'Nimrod'. Release a top-class record and whatever comes next is always going to be judged against even more harshly.

  6. There's a guy on YouTube that does stupid things to explain physics, and in this one he tried to make an electric guitar by putting a current through the strings - he swore a lot, and then said at least it made him sound like a rock star, then played bits of Billie Joe at iHeart. I objected, saying that's not what he's normally like, but the teacher knew.

  7. His singing is more diverse. As far as singing goes, his best album so far is 21 CB. He can still sing those fast punk rock tunes as well as before, but now he is also pretty decent balladeer. His falsetto is lovely and he sings with a bigger range than before. and he can pronounce words in a understandable way now. and especially live. His live singing was never nothing special (tough still perfectly acceptable) back then but, like, 21CB tour was outstanding singing-wise.

  10. I remember people being really happy when Green Day's shows went from being 60-90 minutes to nearly three hours. But really, if you take the hey-ohs out, they've only ever been 60-90 minutes.

  22. I like you as a person, but i seriously do not rate your music taste very high.

  23. i disagree, why do you think his voice is better? i liked it better in 94

  24. Yup, no more carrot-sucking and finding his budget.

  25. I guess so too. But that was the thing that made it possible that they became as great as they were...like if you take no risks, you cannot really get that much. And I imagine some early fans were alienated and some still think stuff after Imsomniac aren't really that good. But personally most of my favourite bands are those whose music and sound changed a bit on nearly every album...which I guess is true when it comes to Green Day Edit. Damn typos & the mobile version of the forum

  27. Dwarves would be under or around 130 cm tall as adults. There are two conditions causing dwarfism, one of which is a rare one called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita and the other, more common is achondroplasia. The rarer one has a dominant gene, so if people with different conditions marry, their children are more likely to have SED than achondroplasia. You're about 5 cm taller than me and I'm not a dwarf, so you aren't, either.

  30. I think my Physics teacher might be an Idiot - I went in yesterday wearing a 39/Smooth shirt, and the first thing he said was "aren't their first four albums older than you?" Also, there was a video he got on YouTube to demonstrate something that had clips of Billie Joe in it, and (this one's tenuous) he wrote a question up today based around bottle rockets (and celebrate...?).

  32. Yeah, I think I've heard that little people/people with dwarfism are prone to having bad joints. But that's not because they're short, it's because of their genetic condition which makes them both short and prone to bad joints. Generally speaking and other conditions aside, people on the tall side are more likely to have knee problems than people on the short side, simply because there's more weight on their knees. I doubt it's much of a factor in Billie and Mike's jumping though , they don't have super powered knees just because they're smallish. Apparently so

  37. Green Day mentioned Woodstock founder considering 50th anniversary festival for 2019 The 1994 event saw the site turned into a mudbath due to adverse weather conditions. During Green Day's set the band famously started a mud fight with the crowd leading to a stage invasion which saw security mistaking the band's Mike Dirnt for a fan and tackling him onstage, leading him to seek emergency dental treatment. http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/77764
