  1. Related unpopular opinion: "Haushinka" is one of their most powerful songs and it should have been a single. It's a "Castaway"-level misstep that they never did so.

  2. They could just remove the covers. My guess is they don't do that because they would prefer to instead just put out one really polished mastered live album, rather than something rushed each night as a memento.

  3. Tim Armstrong owns his own label and Metallica isn't on Reprise. They have been and/or are on Warner, but I'm not sure what label they were on when they released the live stuff.

  6. I've only ever been able to listen to about 30 seconds of any Network song before my eyes and ears start to bleed and I have to squeeze my balls in a vice just to relieve the pain. I ought to give them a fair listen one day I guess

  8. My flatmate did it for me I think it's super cute, but "Warming" makes me laugh every time I look at this poster (It says: "Green Day loves you, so you don't need to study so much")

  10. I had one last night that I was delivering guitars to Billie Joe, but one of them was the wrong one, so Billie was like "well, can you go get the right one?". I told him it was half way across the country (I have no idea where we were supposed to be at that point) and he was like 'its fine, we'll stop by on the Moose Red Eye because "I have to go to Toronto, and I fucking hate Toronto, so we can go get it". Moose plane aside, I have no idea what Toronto ever did to Dream-Billie.

  12. When you're on drugs, anything is a word! Although 'anything' is also a word when you're not on drugs, so I'm not sure about that.

  14. She smashed the radio with the board of education Punk rock wasn't exactly radio-friendly when it first started. Turn up the static left of the state of the nation Before the skinheads showed up punk was primarily leftist. She's a rebel's forgotten son Punk was born out of a return-to-roots to rock music from the masturbation that is progressive, rock was considered "rebel" music for a while after it was born out of jazz. She is the first voice of the last ones in the line Punk wasn't made by or for the people in the upper classes, or "the first ones in line". Punk was very much the first time some people's voices were heard. She'll drag the lake to keep the vendetta alive To drag the lake means to attempt to find something you lost, as in how you'd drag a net across the bottom of a lake to find something important your dumbass dropped in there. Punk revival, bro, going strong in the underground since its father died. Bring in the head of the government The dog ate the document Somebody shot the President And no one knows where Maria went? "Real" punk died out pretty quickly, fockin new wave, man.... Maria, Maria, Maria, Where did you go? Where did punk go? Your breath lacks the conviction No more real punk. All these poseurs ain't got no conviction. x_X_tRuPuNx5eVr_X_x Drawing the line in the dirt And then suddenly... this is punk, this isn't punk, you're not a real punk if you like ______, etc. Shit's all metaphor, man. Maria's a personification.

  15. Chris Bilheimer's Good Taste Quickest design turnaround: Green Day’s “American Idiot.” “I got a call from Billie Joe [Armstrong, the lead singer], who was looking at old movie posters by Saul Bass. [based on that style], we did a hand grenade shaped like a heart. I rammed it out, sent it to him and in 30 minutes the album cover was done.” http://www.wwd.com/footwear-news/people/chris-bilheimers-good-taste-7704693
