You need an awesome goodbye song for his walk-up song. What better goodbye song is there than Good Riddance by Green Day? http://www.neatorama.com/spotlight/2014/04/03/10-Rarest-Rock-and-Roll-Photographs/#!SXkW0 10 Rarest Rock and Roll Photographs

  2. You don't think 'hermoine' to 'Hermione' is traumatic? Dammit Zack, you're a tough man.

  3. Yeah it is in some parts of England, the most well known being in the Cockney accent from London. If someone wants to do an over the top English accent the first thing they'll do is drop their h's, like American actor Dick Van Dyke did (badly) to play a Cockney chimney sweep in the film Mary Poppins . Famous punk bands from London like the Sex Pistols and The Clash would sing that way, I think that was probably an influence on Billie.

  4. I'm surprised (and disappointed ) that Tom didn't choose The Forgotten. Just shows you how wrong Billie is then I guess!

  5. That's ok. Tom thinks he's the man when it comes to traumatic name changes, but he has nothing on you me and Hermione.

  10. Funnily enough a similar conversation recently came up in the Accent Game Thread, might be a thread that interests you if you enjoy the subject of accents.

  11. There is no such thing as a British accent. There is an English accent, a Scottish accent, a Welsh accent and an Irish accent (and many dialects in between). I'm not saying punk was invented by the English (not going to open that can of worms), but a lot of the early punk songs by The Sex Pistols, Siouxsie, The Clash etc had a huge influence on later bands and they had distinct English/London accents. It's not surprising Billie sang in this style, but it's nice that he found his own sound.

  12. Here's a photo from the April 1999 issue of Guitar Techniques (UK). They tabbed Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and I have posted links to the tabs below the image, in case anybody needs them, in order not to break the rules of this particular thread. I have almost all GT issues and this is literally the only time they wrote about Green Day, in any possible way. Weird, huh? Tabs 1 Tabs 2 Tabs 3 Tabs 4

  14. On top of what I said before, it could be down to the fact that Billie is endorsed by Gibson and Mike by Fender, both of whom make their own amps. There could be some kind of clash there where the band aren't allowed to advertise Marshall amps as a result.

  15. Pretty sure they're Marshall. You can see the "M" shape on this photo

  16. There could be a few reasons. It might be to do with not wanting to endorse the product, or if it was being filmed for TV then they might not want to give the company free advertising. I know they use Marshalls but I don't think they're endorsed by them or anything, so that's probably it. Or maybe they just don't like the look of plastic logos on the front of their amps, haha.

  17. To be fair, Billie himself said "I sound like an Englishman imitating an American imitating an Englishman." So it all gets sorta jumbled together.

  22. I think having their best-ever Brain Stew performance alongside it makes up for that, though.

  25. Insomniac is severely neglected by the band in terms of live shows. Some of the songs have never even been played once! I'd love it if they'd occasionally add some of those lesser known songs into the setlist, and rehearse them beforehand so they don't mess up
