You need an awesome goodbye song for his walk-up song. What better goodbye song is there than Good Riddance by Green Day? http://www.neatorama.com/spotlight/2014/04/03/10-Rarest-Rock-and-Roll-Photographs/#!SXkW0 10 Rarest Rock and Roll Photographs2 points

Tomomnom, how could you? You done fucked up, dear. Haha, YES, we danced to When It's Time at our wedding. Aside from despising a grand majority of 21CB (including Last Night on Earth, so dreary, despite being the "Green Day love song"), the lyrics of When It's Time actually are quite applicable to someone like me, who has an extremely hard time expressing emotion, even to those I care about most. I've always considered the song beautiful, and after seeing it in the musical for the first time, it touched me, I always knew it was what I wanted to dance to. Luckily I married someone who not only tolerates my Green Day obsession, but also embraces it, and agreed it would be a wonderful song. It turned out lovely, and we enjoyed that basically no one (except for Mar and Laura) knew what the song even was. Also, I adore Adie and Billie and I can only hope that someday we're old and graying and renewing our wedding vows after 20 years like they did this year. There's a video circulating somewhere on the Interwebz, but I can't be bothered to find it right now. My mom also recorded most of the reception, so I can eventually post the video somewhere on here.2 points

If you had to erase 1 song from every Green Day album, which songs would you pick? Edit: By erase I mean completely wipe from existence!2 points

Not exclusively, but yes. Lots of other accents do it as well. Also, strictly and linguistically speaking they aren't "dropping" the H so much as they just pronounce it as a glottal plosive (also called a glottal stop, it's the one on the top-most right - you can also think of it as the hyphen in "uh-oh").1 point

Well yeah. At least Last Ride In is something different and I think it's pretty good. Nice Guys is just a dull, terrible way to start an album that good.1 point

Here's a photo from the April 1999 issue of Guitar Techniques (UK). They tabbed Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and I have posted links to the tabs below the image, in case anybody needs them, in order not to break the rules of this particular thread. I have almost all GT issues and this is literally the only time they wrote about Green Day, in any possible way. Weird, huh? Tabs 1 Tabs 2 Tabs 3 Tabs 41 point

Hey, to each his own! I think Last Night on Earth sucks, but if you like it and dance to it, I won't think any less of you. I knew some people would disagree with the song we chose or think it was lame/cheesy but let's be honest, no one expected anything else from me and I was happy, so that's all that counts!1 point

You'd get rid of Nice Guys over Last Ride In?! What the hell? Also, I refuse to delete anything off of the perfection that is American Idiot. That's just wrong.1 point

Yeah, it's not an actual "British accent" that he sings with, he sounds American but there's just some elements of a "British" (or to be more accurate English, specifically Cockney/the accent of many famous English punk singers, which is probably where the influence came from) accent in there at times. It's the way he pronounces some vowels, and the way he drops his h's (eg "and the broken 'omes").1 point

They didn't announce it. The only TV show that was known that was cancelled was an appearance on Ellen. Though I'm pretty sure they would have stopped by Letterman at some point in the few months of the albums release.1 point

I only chose those songs because I had to choose one from each album. The only ones there I dislike are Know Your Enemy, I Was There, and The Forgotten. The lyrics just ruin it for me. It's fine otherwise, for the most part.1 point

Well, not everyone who has a hard time with outward expression is a bipolar cheater. But I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you.1 point

Least it gave us Aussies a story - I am happy they did it even though I didn't get to go - a bit like a foxies show. Queensland will win the series1 point

Haha taking back our place. Just remember more wins are coming in the origin for us. This was one of the first time I regret living out of Sydney. Billie gave me only an hour and a halfs notice yet I am 2 hours away, and by the time I got there it would already be full. Really sucked.1 point

Insomniac is severely neglected by the band in terms of live shows. Some of the songs have never even been played once! I'd love it if they'd occasionally add some of those lesser known songs into the setlist, and rehearse them beforehand so they don't mess up1 point

When It's Time is way better than Last Night on Earth! I think it's their best love song so far.1 point

Gonna sic Alissa on your ass, nomnom LNOE is a song that I initially thought I hated, but then I realized that it's quite beautiful; it's a grower. But I think the musical version blows it out of the water.1 point

My first dance is going to be When It's Time, much better than Last Night On Earth.1 point

no "rage" inside the wrist--> if you look closely, in this pic you can cleary see a sort of bandaid under the wristband...but there's nothing on the right wrist, so I think he has only "Love " on the left1 point

I have 2 GD tattoos, the first I got on the 1 year anniversary of my first Green Day show on the outside of my right forearm, and the 2nd I got on my right wrist because Kerplunk is my favourite album (sorry if the images are too big)1 point
