Whoa, Christian's inferno Whoa, Christian's inferno Whoa, Christian's inferno Whoa, Christian's inferno It really adds to the message and emotion of the song in such a creative manner, doesn't it? I sat through another hour of that album and I never found out why Christian was inferno.4 points

The verses are fine but the chorus has to be the worst they've ever done. That reminds me.3 points

Jeez guys. I fight for the Trilogy all the time, but even I don't say some of this baloney you guys are coughing out about it.3 points

Emotions are great and all, but there comes a point when you need to consult facts. Here, check this out:2 points

I think Adam just made it quite plain that it's butt.2 points

It wasn't so bad until the rain. Then I started to get pissed. I just love the transition from ultra-filtered verses to thumping chorus with natural vocals, and...I don't know, it just sounds ineffably cool to me. *shrugs*2 points

THAEHK!! BHAEEEHCK!! THAEHK!! BHAEEEHCK!! THAAAAHHEKK!!! Easily one of the best things Green Day ever did.2 points
-
How. How is something that is soooo far from anything Green Day's ever been "pure Green Day"? I swear I'll be posting this til I die but the trilogy lacked everything that made their previous work standout. Mike-Billie Harmonies Basslines Billie's iconic sneer A coherent theme/message Lyrics that could easily form a connection with a majority of listeners. Top notch production (Referring more to their latter work here) Maybe, instead of having some of my favorite lyrics in my signature, I should just put really bad ones from the trilogy to make a point.2 points

Don't you just hate cliffhangers? Unfortunately, Billie is absolutely godawful at hardcore growling. It makes me cringe every single time1 point

Insomniac so near the bottom is "pretty standard?!"1 point

Don't talk about NimJim in that manner in front of Kay.1 point

I just think they're fun albums. I don't think about lyrics, I don't think about how the snare hit sounds, I just sing and bounce around like an idiot to it. Dats it mane. Some people need more out of the albums and I just don't, maybe thats why they appeal more to me..1 point

Oh really? Well let me introduce you to two good friends of mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmPlPdWS97A1 point

Not sure exactly how to word this but my favorite songs are the ones where Billie writes about his marriage/relationships in an apologetic type of way like Worry Rock, Church on Sunday, Scattered, Redundant and such. I really relate to him best when he's in that mode and just wants to make things right for his past mistakes.1 point

What the fuck is a train buddy? I still don't get it when people rank the Trilogy together. I mean, they're three different albums, how does it make sense?1 point
-
Well he'd never done growling on record before, so that fulfils the diversification aspect. Whether it's actually any good or not is another matter.1 point
-
AI not being a part of your top 3 is the most insane thing I've seen in this thread. Especially being behind the trilogy. Castaway and Church on Sunday??1 point
-
no idea but a lot of record stores that participated to the RSD put what they had left on their website. go check the thread about demolicious and ask what websites people got theirs.1 point

Nimrod. is definitely the album of theirs that I'd take to a desert island with me. And it's definitely their best album to just listen to on the radio while driving around on a summer day. So much fun. I still say it's their best-produced, actually. The vocal filters on 21CB are nowhere near as bad as they are on the Trilogy, but they still are distracting, and the compression can be annoying. Plus the bass gets buried in the mix. On Nimrod., all of the instruments are perfectly balanced—the bass doesn't dominate but is still quite audible, and Tre's drums sound magnificent—especially on "Hitchin' a Ride" after the "1, 2, 1-2-3-4" in each verse, the kick is incredible. It's less flat than both Dookie and Insomniac without becoming overcompressed. The only song on the album that I don't like the production of is "Nice Guys Finish Last"; it still feels a little flat for whatever reason.1 point
