I've always wished that Tre had drummed out of time after the 'hear the drum pounding out of time' line in Holiday.3 points

I joined GDC 4 days before the VMAs last year and I didn't know what a Ceadog was until like November.2 points

I actually like Stop When The Red Lights Flash. It's one of a handful of songs on Dos that actually lives up to what the album was made out to be.2 points

I get really depressed listening to "Burnout" and "Basket Case" these days, because then I go back to listening to Tre of the last ten years and think "What fucking happened?" Took place halfway through the year? But the ILLMAKEUSURRENDERILLMAKEUSURRENDERILLMAKEUSURRENDERILLMAKEUSURRENDER2 points

I agree that most of their reviews are shite, but this one's right on the money.2 points

Ya got me Just realized that I'm the NimrodJimrod everyone talks about. Didn't even realize all this time.1 point

I like it for the same reason you don't, then. I love how it's so introspective and reflective. There are a few really good upbeat songs on there, but on the whole it feels pretty chilled out, and the run of Misery, Deadbeat Holiday and Hold On is great if you're in the right kind of mood for it. It sort of comes across as genuinely morose, as opposed to something like WMUWSE or BOBD which seem really histrionic by comparison.1 point

I never really liked Warning. I like some of the songs individually, but the whole album has sort of a dull/depressing vibe to me. I really love Minority, Warning, Waiting, and Macy's Day Parade though.1 point
-
Yeah, true. Individual songs are good but as an album it's still kind of boring because so many songs are so similar.1 point

I think "Warning" may be my favorite green day album now. It used to be "American Idiot" but now idk.1 point

As far as I know American Idiot wasn't butchered to that extent, and I think Jesus Of Suburbia and Give Me Novocaine are far better drum performances than anything on Dookie. So there's that. But now... boom boom clack boom boom boom clack *repeat ad infinitum*1 point

That makes me even sadder. I'm just picturing Tre going full Keith Moon on us and that could have been something special.1 point

I love that GIF Straight from the horse's mouth.1 point

To be quite honest it's become the actual lyric in my mind. I don't even think of the right one anymore.1 point

Here, read this. It'll clean you right up (its negative opinion on 21CB aside).1 point

Excellent point, the lyrics are my favorite part of owning a CD. American Idiots linear notes is a work of art in itself1 point

Mark is better looking and a better signer than Tom "In thee car I just cent wayt tew peeck yew up on our very feirst dayte. Is it kewl if I hewld yewr hyand?" I finally got around to listening to shenanigans, it's sad when an album full of b-sides is better than the majority of the trilogy1 point

The only difference I've really noticed is that he doesn't ramble as much (so shows are shorter) and yeah he seems more peaceful rather than angry. Otherwise I think he's actually a better performer now and he sounds better too. He has loads of energy in this song:1 point

That'd be as bad as that time I said I'm having hashtags and beans for breakfast. I even got a retweet from Fuzz for that one.1 point

I don't see how he could have been when he was bonking Lady Cobra every night. OH MY GOD I NEARLY PUT LADY NIGHTLIFE INSTEAD OF COBRA #youknowyouvebeenongdctoolongwhen1 point

I loved 21 Guns live so much but I don't have an active need for it to be there. I think BOBD is a important song from their catalog to play anyway1 point
-
21 Guns is nothing special on the album, but the live version is incredible. That said, I'm honestly not sure how it might work without the huge backdrop and pyros from the 21st Century Breakdown tour. I mean, it does simply sound better live, but it was massively enhanced by the visuals.1 point

I've just remembered a load of these from a few years ago. "Furred men eat salmon, Ella said oh no" - Hitchin' A Ride "I live inside this mental cave, throw my emotions in the gays, Helen needs them anyway" - Burnout "I am a son of a bitch, a nigger and a pole" - St Jimmy "She assaulted the earth and she's dangerous" - She's A Rebel "Too much too soon, too late and now become an igloo" - Too Much Too Soon "Are you locked up in a world that's before W" - She "I'm not part of Fur Elise I'm just alright" - Stuck With Me "My wallet's farted, so has my head" - Walking Contradiction1 point
