  6. I'm going to wait and see with this one. If I had to bet on how the movie will end up, I'd bet that it will be cheesy and painful to watch. But I can see potential for a very good musical/movie. I think for it to work they would have to make it dark. Dark works far better in most movies/shows. Just look at the Batman trilogy compared to almost every other new super hero remake. Batman blows them away. If the movie stays away from everything that made the JOS and WMUWSE videos awful then they have a shot. Dark, serious subjects with serious actors and a dark spin on all of the songs and I could see it working

  8. They weren't the first, but what's great about them is they never really lost their sound or changed very much. They were always just "punk" while other bands like The Clash and Green Day and Rancid experiment and mix into other genres, the Ramones always stayed the same

  9. There's no "first" punk band because there's no one spot where protopunk became punk. It's a gradient.

  14. Kohl's is selling the "Kiss Me, I'm Punk" Green Day shirt. I remember seeing this shirt around years ago. It looks like it's available on-line only. http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1700601/green-day-st-patricks-day-tee-men.jsp

  15. Its impossible to say who the first punk band is. There would of been bands that never made it out of local clubs, they played punk music, even if it wasn't called punk music. The only thing you can say is who the first bands were that were recognised as playing the genre and even that can get tricky, as a genre needs to have more then just one artist otherwise its not a genre so no one band can be listed.

  25. Folks say they didn't pay attention to the trilogy on the tour but they played the same amount of trilogy songs as they did to AI during AI touring and 21st songs during that tour... The band treats the trilogy as one album... They averaged about 7 or so songs of trilogy songs which is about average...

  28. Yeah that's fair enough having just read that tweet I suppose. I guess no one can really help the opinion they have of a show when they go to it though. I dunno about that (she's a member here so if she feels like posting about it here she will haha). It could partly be because these shows were part of a festival where they'd been billed as "featuring Billie Joe Armstrong" and stuff and there were probably a lot of non fans there, I can imagine it wouldn't have had as much of a free and disorganized feeling as a short notice show in a little club totally on their own would. But in any case the vast majority of people who saw the show clearly loved it so looks like it was still good!

  30. I can't think of anything I want less. It has its place in history but I draw the line at the musical. It's totally outdated now, and personally I think there's a risk of this sullying the album's legacy. Especially if Billie is in the lead role.
