I can't watch iHeart ever again because it was just so painful for me to watch and I don't think Billie did anything noble that night. As a musician, he was a mess, he was so grabby with that girl onstage and I don't think anyone took his words seriously because they just screamed of desperation (as in "Waaaah, no one's paying attention to my band anymore") and showed obvious drunkenness. I don't think he said anything to make it worthy of really offending everyone, and I think it was hard to get people offended when they were busy laughing at him or feeling pity for him. The audience didn't give a shit about Green Day's music nor do I think they were the type to really care if he thought they were shit. Like you said, they shouldn't have done it at all - because if they hadn't, it would be a little easier to respect Billie's point of view. But they were there just like everyone else he seemed to be angry with that night with the same purpose as Usher and whomever else - to sell records and get spins on Clear Channel. I think it would be easier to stomach that night had he really gotten people talking about respect for established acts in the music industry, the corporatization of music or anything like that, but instead, he just created headlines about his health. His rant was about himself and how he felt he should be treated (complete with ignoring the band when saying "I've been around") and nothing else. The only good thing, to me, about iHeart was that it was a wake-up call for him.6 points

"not relevant enough to get verbally abused by beliebers" is possibly the worst insult one could throw around in 21st century America. I mean even Drake Bell was able to rile them up.6 points

So all college kids are "entitled little pricks"?! I have a Masters degree and I can guarantee you I am certainly NOT an "entitled little prick". I grew up working class and my parents worked hard to get me and my siblings through school and then I and all my siblings worked jobs while attending University. People like you drive me nuts. Maybe some education would help you to be less narrow minded and understand you know a lot less than you think rather than making sweeping statements of stupidity about people trying to improve their lives.3 points

'American Idiot' made the top 10 on this best concept albums list. The writer said she received it on her 10th birthday. Damn that makes me feel old. http://concerttour.org/ten-best-concept-albums-ever-made.php3 points

I mean if you really want to see Billie make a statement, potentially offend people in the audience AND give a lethally good performance, then look no further: Just re-watching this video makes me miss this Billie a little bit. That AI era look mixed with his larger than life stage presence during the era makes this such a great performance. If I had been watching these Grammy's and I had never seen GD, only heard of them, and then I watch this performance, I would have been immediately enthralled. Although the sound of the guitars is a little off, no?2 points

If Billie's dog is still alive and kicking, we need to release an album of Rocky doing Green Day covers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP6sDXmjwWk2 points

I've seen them play it 3 times and will never tire of it . Just love all that stuff. I love seeing them do any other song that has fun onstage traditions attached to it as well, whatever song it is that'll always beat them just playing a song straight through for me.2 points

Verse is G C a couple times, chorus is G C G C G C G G D D. Move that pattern around until it matches up with the recording, I'm not sure about the key. You should probably go learn roman numeral analysis first, though.2 points

Or Lights Out. Or Nuclear Family. Or Castaway. Or Let Yourself Go. All great intro songs (live), in my opinion2 points

Just put my 2118 song iPod on shuffle and got this: Good Riddance (Nimrod) Good Riddance (BIAB) Good Riddance (AAF) all in a row. What are the odds?2 points

Instead of hearing Know Your Enemy for the millionth time, I'd kill to hear Maria live. It has the same effect (pump-assery) and hasn't been played to death.2 points

I would happily murder my family to get Homecoming and Misery on the setlist.2 points

Just thinking about this the other day: I think if I could choose one song that I'd kill to see them play live in person, it'd be Stuart And The Ave. There's really no recording of it live, and it is such a fantastic song. The lyrics, bass line, and melody all come together perfectly. One of my top 10 favorite songs so I would do some unspeakable things to see them play it. Some other songs that I'd kill to see include Homecoming, 80, and Castaway among others but Stuart and the Ave tops all2 points

I'll be honest, I enjoy the iHeart radio performance. It is sad to think that he was actually in a really fucked up place at that point, but I love seeing Billie just fuck that place up. Granted, they shouldnt have even agreed to play but it was great to see them just offend everybody in the room at the most corporate music event of the year.1 point

maria gets you pumped? Damn you have low standard far as pump up songs go Babs Uvula Who would be my pick to take that #2 spot and get everyone amped1 point

I liked it but I didn't. If it had been an intentional rant and he hadn't complained about the time slot GD was allotted, then some of what he said was quite humorous. But considering the underlying problems and the fact that he was black out drunk makes it not quite so humorous. I'm all for the "making a statement" type thing but he didn't do it on purpose and said quite a few other things that were just drunk babble1 point

I'll be honest Billie saying "I'm not Justin Beiber you motherfuckers" at a highly corporate event was one of the greatest things ever. I dunno maybe I'm just being cynical and I'm really pissed off1 point

You wouldn't really have to suffer through it though, you could just choose not to listen to it.1 point
