The worst part is when one member is performing an awesome solo and the producer is like "Nah, just keep on that other guy who's been playing rhythm for 2 minutes straight"3 points

BIAB is brilliant. One of the best things they've ever put out.2 points

I think it's safe to say they did that on purpose, since WMUWSE is one of the most successful and recognizable songs from the CD, and When It's Time would be new to non-hardcore fans. I also see it as a sort of ironic foreshadowing sort of thing; the tune of the love song he wrote for Whatsername becomes the depressing song he sings after she's gone. I really like the Green Day version of the song though. I guess that's unpopular?2 points

Agreed, definitely. ^ I'm assuming this is allowed, as they are in the front row at a game.2 points

My ideal concert movie would only have about 5 different angles, averaging about 10-20 seconds between cuts. Most professionally recorded concerts are edited by people with ADD2 points

I think when you talk about that anger in the trilogy, the first word that comes to mind for me is: forced. That's what it feels like. Compare that to the raw power and darnkness that exists on Insomniac and I think it is clear why one album is respected and one isn't. The live performances really exemplify this. I mean just watch the two Letterman performances from the Insomniac era. He looks mad as hell (and high). The emotion in those performances adds so much to the songs for me personally.1 point

I just read a news about the Foreverly album of three days ago of a very know site here in Brazil and they wrote Billie's name of three ways. Billie Joe Billy Joe Billy Joel > this is the one that appears in the name of the news. Why is so dificult write only one name?1 point

The anger on Insomniac sounds much rawer, more realistic. The guitar tones help a lot obviously.1 point

I know I'm WAY too late but... I remember you were talking about the trilogy and said that it was too 'happy' and because of that the songs "sucked". Guys... are you fucking kidding me? Loss of Control? Let Yourself Go? Kill the DJ? Rusty James (somehow)? Ashley? Those songs were genuinely filled with anger. I mean, yeah, those songs have a ridiculous amount of swearings but c'mon... The message they try to express on those tracks, the anger, the rancor, the disappointment, the hysteria... Insomniac's Anger is not too far away.1 point

Here is where Green Day were mentioned in Top Gear Australia Magazine. Also on the Australia game show, Million Dollar minute there was a Green day question the other week. Billie Joe Armstrong is the lead singer of which rock band? It was multiple choice (no idea what the other options were as I wasn't watching I just heard Billie's name and it directed my attention) but the person got it right straight away without really thinking.1 point

Yeah, I love Bullet in a Bible for the most part but some of Billie's interviews come across as really pretentious. The performance parts are incredible though.1 point

Good to see you're still making all of us crazy Flo! (with Billie's help, of course) Holy Fuckballs lives on!1 point

I've listened to/watched all of the songs individually, just not all in one go. Maybe I'm just a bad fan1 point

Oh yeah the CD is fabulous! I don't generally like listening to live recordings much but I really enjoy AAF, it's so cool how the songs are from different shows and the choices are great. The fact that there's a song from a show I was at on there helps as well , but even besides that it's just a really brilliant live album, not sure exactly what it is about it but they somehow captured the energy and excitement of a Green Day show perfectly on there. The DVD is ok, I mean it's always cool to watch a live Green Day performance and it's nice and energetic feeling. But they left out way too many essential songs/elements of the show so it doesn't represent the tour very well, plus the camera cuts around too much. The intro is a must with the hilarious little bit with Billie though1 point

Looks like it was taken in the 90s, so probably someone who had an old non digital camera that didn't give you an accurate view of where the photo would be cut off. I have loads of old family photos with heads cut off and stuff because of rubbish cameras with inaccurate view finders. Or they just weren't very good at taking photos and accidentally aimed wrong. Either way the quality of their camera skills is no reflection on how big a Green Day fan they are1 point

I could NOT stop staring at him the entire musical. He was beautiful. Seriously, he looked so much like him it was scary! His voice seemed kind of meh, but I was also in a weird sound bubble because I was in the second row. Seriously? That's cool! That part of the song is sung by a woman in the musical, so it makes sense. I'll have to check that out. (I LOVE the lyric booklet. I'm really weirdly obsessed with fonts and writing and things like that. ) I think in the musical they altered it a little to make it sound similar to WMUWSE. The Green Day version of the song sounds nothing like it at all. Have you heard that version?1 point

Florence Welch has done loads of Green Day covers with this other guy in a collaboration called team perfect, but this has to be my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPWO7AHe2Xs1 point
