I didn't say that being drunk was making Billie right, I tried to imply that a bunch of Internet users need to let the whole concept of THEM being right go in cases of serious substance abuse. It's somewhat uncomfortable to dissect one person's personal struggle to the point of being right or not, knowing what was going through his mind and what wasn't. My cousin almost killed my aunt and he got to the point where he was sent to jail in December, for only six months and only for the attack where he randomly fired an illegally-owned gun, so I know what I'm talking about. I might be straight-edge myself, but I've had my own share of alcoholics. The "true character comes out" thing is applicable only for people who live pretending and who then, well, don't pretend. Otherwise, a Mr. Hyde kind of a persona comes out. In cases of downright psychotic people (my cousin is one of those), they get violent. And I have solid knowledge of psychology, far further than popular myths quoted here. halfempty, I'm really, really sorry that you're going through this with your dad.2 points

I disagree. My father's a rotten alcoholic. He picks fights with my mother, yells, and whatnot. But when he's sober he is a different person, caring and understanding. Alcohol fucks him up bad. Alcohol does not display the person you really are.2 points

This photo is the most cute I've ever seen of Bilie with a fan onstage  (and if anyone has it in better quality..)2 points

Yeah he always says its coming out though. What he really means is, I really want it to come out and I hope Warner will release it! Could be prompted by a real indication that they might release it but there's no way to know if it's for sure it seems. Edit: And I mean Warner/Green Day/whoever owns it who's in the band's camp and isn't him.1 point

On a tv series from here there's a girl who has a giant poster of Oh Love in her room, plus another poster of the boys as a cartoon and some other pictures. I decided to start watching it because of that1 point

Don't disagree with them. They know EVERYTHING. Seriously, each case of an alcoholic is different. My personal experience is similar to yours and I know what you mean. The sure thing is that you can't make a "medical report" to people you don't know at all through the internet.1 point

Same, watching that show hurts me emotionally. You don't have to be so harsh. He wasn't being childish, he did need help though.1 point
