Green Day is mentioned by Alice Cooper in this NME article: http://www.nme.com/news/alice-cooper/71420 "Mumford And Sons are great at what they do. But it's not rock 'n' roll. Don't call it rock 'n' roll. It's an offence to rock 'n' roll." [...] "Finally, I just went 'Okay – you guys don't want to be rock bands, great. That's better for us'. There's more for Foo Fighters, there's more for Green Day, more for the bands that really are rock bands. I don't understand why everybody is so afraid to be in a rock band." ---------------- Reminds me a lot of an old interview where he said: "I go to see bands, and in our era, you had to be a great band, you had to write great songs, and you had to do a great, great show. That does not exist anymore. The old pros do it. And the Foo Fighters do it. And Green Day does it. And that's about it. There's nobody else out there."8 points

Couldn't help myself! He looks like a kitten or puppy at an animal shelter! (all credit to me if you use it, please)4 points

Just jumping in to say that all guitarists get that. Not a wonder. I just fail to see that kind of stuff in him. He's just cute like a combo of a small sheep dog, a fight rooster and an Ewok, I guess. It's the charm of a cartoon character, right there. Laly, get a load of this:3 points

Broadway Idiot mentions dvd release We've started pulling together bonus materials to go with the documentary when it's released (no date confirmed yet). Going back through the project I came across this 36-way split I built to edit the 21 Guns sequence. It took a while to find the best angles!2 points

Jeff Matika @jeffmatika 1h Back in the USA. Feels good to be home. Thanks for a great tour!! #99RevolutionsTour Jeff Matika @jeffmatika 3m Calm down. Not true. “@AwesomeAsNathan: @RhiannonYknow @jeffmatika yeah but the 'Thanks for a great tour' suggests he's finished it..” Jeff Matika @jeffmatika 1m How can a simple thank you cause so many over reactions? Actually, his tweet gave me hope!1 point

Browsed greenday.com on the Wayback Machine and found this letter Billie wrote for the fans in 2000.1 point

I think we need a male opinion to weigh in on the likelihood of him getting an erection every time he performs. I understand how rock n roll, guitars, screaming crowds, perhaps a lot of hot young girls might be a normal combination to get one going, but seriously, it's like a ritual1 point

All jokes aside (WHAT?) I do think he does everything in his power to guarantee that he's aroused during shows. I think he likes it (either for himself or to impress others )1 point

yep! this situation is becoming ridiculous IMO http://www.liberatv.ch/articolo/14696/billie-joe-bestemmia-sul-palco-locarno-don-andreatta-sono-sconcertato-e-addolorato here's the article Ilaria talked about, it's an intervew to the priest about this situation, he said Billie and the band should be informed about the gravity of the thing, and see how they'll react..if they apologize or not... this whole situation makes me laugh I don't know why. they even started a poll so people could express their opinion about it D: here's the poll http://www.tio.ch/News/Ticino/744899/Nessuna-rockstar-e-autorizzata-a-bestemmiare-in-un-concerto/1 point

Really. They called also the Locarno priest - or something. "Don't invite green day anymore" Are you dumb? It's seems so obviously that a priest would be offended by a thing like that, come on!1 point

I went to an Influents show in early 00s at a super tiny venue in Los Angeles. It was very intimate, there couldn't have been more than 30 people there. This was around the time Some Of The Young came out, I got to meet Jason White, and the other members of The Influents, all of which were incredibly nice and funny. I was a huge fan of the Influents, so I was really happy to get to chat with them in such a intimate and small place, where no one else was even trying to talk to them. Then, later at that same show, Tre and Billie showed up, after about 20 minutes I walked up to Tre and shook his hand and spoke to him for a minute or two and he was really sweet and not nearly as zaney or wild as he always seems. That night he seemed just super mellow and polite, he was wearing a leather jacket and looked incredibly buff. When I saw Billie I totally froze, obviously cause like all of you I am an enormous fan, have been since Insomniac came out, and he is one of my favorite songwriters. I didn't have the courage to go up to him at first. Then after a minute or two he disappeared. I had no idea where he went, I just assumed he left and I had missed my opportunity. An hour or so later I was in the bathroom and when I walked out of the stall, there he was washing his hands. No one else was in this tiny dirty bathroom, so I just washed my hands next to him, and said something along the lines of "hey man i'm a really big fan, really love your band". He smiled and said thanks dude, or something really simple and polite. I said something else about how he was one of my favorite songwriters and that I just wanted to tell him that, I sounded like a complete tool, lol. but he was super nice and just politely and quietly said 'thanks so much, i really appreciate that' he dried his hands, shook my hand and said have a good night and left. I was CRAZY stoked. When The Influents finally went on to play, I stood with my friend watching them play their set, and at one point I looked over and Billie was standing by himself like a couple feet beside me, with a beer watching the band. It was just the icing on the cake, that I got to watch The Influents play, in a small intimate venue with like 30 people there, everyone just kind of standing really chil, with Billie Joe a couple feet away from me, all just enjoying the influents for the remainder of the night. No one talked to him, everyone just watched the band and enjyoed the music. It was kind of amazing, and I'm glad I got to experience it. sorry this was so long1 point
