  3. Editie NL (a Dutch news programme) mentioned that "Green Day fans couldn't wait for the band to come on" or something like that, and they showed the video at Emirates where everyone's singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Actually pretty awesome that video's gone viral!

  8. Went into a cathedral once, and they had a guy in the massive entrance bit playing the piano, he started playing the intro to Viva la Gloria. the guy playing was fairly old (late 60's) I laughed and said that's awesome, and said it was his grandsons favourite song so he learnt to play it. I said I loved Green Day, so he went on to play the guitar riffs from loads of songs in sort of a medley, was a really awesome guy.

  13. I'm quite sure Billie farted at some point, within the last 2 hours. I felt in my soul. If that ain't news, I don't know what is. Also, I've been seeing posters all over Oslo, Billie's face is everywhere. I'll try to steal one and upload a decent picture later.

  16. Old stuff from 1998, an interview with Mike on 11/08/1998 during the Sziget Festival ! Zoom. Tuesday, August 11, 1998. I had the opportunity to talk face to face with as bassist last night (Seven days of the festival) to "Sziget" in Budapest. Green Day has sold over 65 million albums worldwide (including 22 in the U.S.). The group received three Grammys over the years: 1994 Best Alternative Album for Dookie 2005 Best Rock Album for American Idiot 2006 Record of the Year for Boulevard of Broken Dreams Rico (CZB): What is the dumbest thing you've done in school thing? Mike Dirnt (Mike): I took a teaching class VIII sărite.Îmi like to echo the sounds of robots in the classroom. I moved the bench next to his office ... One morning, she could not control, hysterical and out of the classroom. Engineer was forced to hand over the rest of the lessons of the day! CZB: I understand that you do not like the TV show. Mike: I can not watch any show from beginning to end. CZB: But "Beavis and Butt-head" What do you think? Mike: There is a difference between quality and quantity. I love them. CZB: How do you explain the fact that you get along better with Billy Joe (Armstrong, singer)? Mike: We know how to respect the space of the other and listening to each other. CZB: When you started to play the guitar? Mike: At 10 or 11. I started playing guitar roommate's mother. Billy Joe (childhood friend) could already play. He wanted to teach me a riff, but did not know how to coordinate my fingers. Then I went to the roommate who told me what to do - and then I could not peel his guitar. CZB: When you released Dookie, you said that you do not want to make a career ... Mike: I do not remember being told something that none of us. That's all we can do. We love it. Therefore, all singing halls alternative size. In the same tournament for recitals 300, 500, 5,000 or 50,000 people. CZB: I understand that you try to keep the value of your concert tickets at the lowest possible level. Mike: We ask as long as we think we deserve. With every album, I think our value increases a bit. We have five albums (the interview was conducted in August 1998 until reaching the eighth studio album). CZB: You punks think? Mike: Yes. But I'll give you a definition. It is as if I would explain the smell. It is impossible. I love punk rock music. This is part of my life. CZB: You are at war with the Offspring? Mike: No, we are sick of putting everything in the same boat with them. It's like comparing apples with pears. We are two completely different groups doing different music. CZB: You broke at some time in 1996 ... Mike: No. It was a rumor. I needed a break. We are full European tour and we're tired. I was exhausted and nervous. We decided it's time to stop the trailer and go home to our families. I had to stop and prepare to record a new album. We just need material for this album. You can not make up for a tournament. CZB: What is it like being a father? How have you changed? Mike: I became a lot more fun. Life has become more pink. Without my daughter, I would not have realized that life has to offer me. CZB: But you're not married yet ... Mike: I'm in a transition period. CZB: Are you ready for a new version? Mike: Maybe Christmas! We have enough parts to produce an album of B-Sides (ie recorded songs that were released on singles only, not on previous albums), containing 20 tracks. (Na next album, Warning, was released two years after this interview). We really want to make a horror movie! We expect to complete the ongoing promotional tour (the album Nimrod). Which will last until the end of the year (1998). I claimed that Nimrod 180 concerts ... which should be encouraged. Then we want to talk to some people in the industry to put the script in place. CZB: How has your music changed over the years and in which direction are they headed? Mike: I do not know! We record albums piece by piece, and when the recording is finished, listening to all the material and realize the direction I took. The most difficult thing is to choose what parts to open the album. All are like your children. CZB: What do you think of the Britpop music (which at the time was very popular in Europe)? Mike: It's a little slow for my biological metronome. I love the old Britpop of The Beatles. CZB: I think it will destroy everything on stage tonight because you're the last band playing on the big stage this year's festival. Mike: Many devices breaks down on stage during a performance. We like to fix it the next day. At the end of the show on the evening of August 11, 1998, on the main stage at Sziget Festival, the trio Green Day burned drums and has created an impressive high heat. The third album, Dookie, Green Day Staff of the house signed to Warner Music. These albums are distributed in Romania by A & A Records, once again thank them for their support in making this interview when I was editor of music magazine satellite TV (1995-1999).
