I love it! Also, to everyone on here, it was a blast voting with all of you. Kinda sad to see this thread end, after all this is the thread that inspired me to join. I at first was just a guest on here, reading everyone's comments to inspire me to keep voting. And then I saw how incredibly awesome everyone is on here, and how nice, I new I had to join. I know we lost, but I can't but feel that Green Day would still be proud of how far we did come in the poll, especially if they ever happen to read this thread (especially the pages about the final) on how dedicated we were of voting and keeping everyone inspired to vote. Being on here has made me even more proud to be a Green Day fan.

As he explained he wasn't using it in a derogatory way in that post. Quite the opposite in fact, he was referencing an episode of South Park that's anti-homophobia. The thing about the cheating is, some fans may have cheated but that doesn't mean they all did. Most of them won't have cheated so it's not fair to call them all cheaters and try and take away their win. For all we know some Green Day fans might have cheated too and we just don't know about it. We've all had fun in this contest so there's no need to spoil it with bitterness and whinging now, let's just be happy that we've taken part in this enjoyable contest

Hey guys, just found out about the bad news. Its sucks, but I think it was more about the fun we had than winning anyway. So before this gets closed, I would like to thank you all for the INCREDIBLE time i had in this thread. I'd been looking forward to MMM since the end of last years game and it was totally worth it. I had a blast! Sure, we didn't win, but hey, we were in it the whole time! Also, this is our first loss in 2 years!! I think it's good to lose sometimes and we've been pretty gracious (and hilarious) about it. To the people in this thread: I love you all, and I hope to see you in the poll veterans club soon (speaking of which, I think it's time we get new banners) Green Day will be doing a ton of shit before MMM2013, so I'm sure we can win it next year! that would just be so hilarious, they should make the biggest entance ever and the mtv people would be like "why are you here" and billie would say "someone told me there was a trophy with my name on it, i'm here to pick it up"

Yeah that. Then they said "but isn't their lead singer bisexual?" It just upsets me that they think we're really rude. I've always looked at us as one of the best fanbases out there. The nice ones, the ones who stick together, the ones that don't cheat, the dedicated ones, but now other fanbases are having these nasty opinions about us and thinking we're mean and this and that and that upsets me because we're not.

To be fair some stupid people have used homophobic language to describe them. But luckily they don't represent all Green Day fans. Everyone should chill out, the contest was fun regardless of who won so let's not spoil it now.

Don't be harassing other forums. We don't like it when people do it to us, we shouldn't do it to them. It sucks that we didn't win - but it's alright. We did a really good job and we made it to the finals despite going up against some heavy competition. We won one last year, and more importantly, a lot of you made friends and had fun talking with new people over the last month and nearly 6000 posts.

Green Day fans are the best fans EVER.

Hi guys. I'm a Tokio Hotel fan as well as a Green Day fan, and I just wanted to come say that it was an honor to be competing against Green Day. I voted for TH because they changed my life and I think they need the support - at this point, nobody's questioning how great GD are. I truly love them and camped out before their opening 21st Century Breakdown show in Seattle to make front row, still have Mike Dirnt's pick, and think they could play the pants off any band in live concert. I know a lot of TH fans acted badly during the contest - what can you do, there are some immature fans. But I know a lot of us were proud just to stand in the same round with Green Day, and there would have been no shame in losing to you guys. So I want to apologize for any crap or drama you've seen from TH fans and thank you all for a good round. Hey, basketball teams shake hands after the game is played, why shouldn't fandoms? Peace and music.

Also, anyone who loves voting in these kinds of things can share fun memories in the Poll Veterans Club (but not spam it )

I agree, I like this thread, maybe if we go about it quietly no one will notice that it has stayed open so long

They were talking about it all over their forum. But for all we know, maybe they were just saying that to piss us off because they knew we would read their forum. And we know that if they DID cheat, then most likely not all of them cheated. That's why I'm not blaming all of them. And there's also a possibility that some Green Day fans cheated, but we don't know if that's true or not. (And if they did, it wasn't obvious.) But honestly, if you look at their small FB fanbase and how they've NEVER had a No. 1 album or single here, then it makes you wonder....

His act/look is flamboyant and glitzy and sparkly, commenting on that isn't the same as commenting on his sexuality. But she only put it in her sig by accident anyway and it's gone now so there's really nothing to discuss here.

It's a real shame that some people's comments were seen as "homophobic", so many of us aren't like that and everything we did was all good-natured fun. But then I did read that a lot of TH fans were also making very nasty comments about Green Day and their fans too. So yeah, I guess you just get assholes in every fanbase. As we know from the ones who've posted on here, there's some honest and friendly TH fans too. Too bad that the assholes are the ones who get the most attention and end up representing the whole fanbase. I don't think we need to feel bad, most of us have accepted the loss very well and we didn't do anything to offend anyone. It just sucks that some people did. Let's just look forward to next year!

I came home from school ready to congratulate us on winning, but then I saw that we lost. But I still wanna congratulate us! Even though we didn't win, we still did fucking awesome. I mean, we beat The Decemberists, Lana Del Rey, James Durbin, and Adam Lambert. Weather Tokio Hotel cheated or not, we still had a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun voting with you guys.

I'm a Tokio Hotel fan as well, and just wanted to stop by and say that I never cheated during this contest. I was disappointed when I heard that some TH fans were cheating, and it really hurt that I had to contact MTV News about it. But yeah, you did a great job, guys and if TH isn't in MMM 2013, I wish you good luck!
