I have been a Green Day fan since 1994, and it has always been like this—the band really doesn't let the outside world into their creative process when they are making a new album. In other words, do not expect them to say anything during this preproduction phase (i.e., demoing and rehearsing). On the other hand, the good news is that they have never played this many new songs live before recording the master tracks that end up on the final version of the album, at least not since they signed to Reprise Records in 1993. Needless to say this long preproduction process usually allows the band to record the master tracks fairly quickly, as they already have everything worked out before heading down to L.A.

The video is awesome! I like it a lot Thanks Mary for starting this project and great job on the editing, it's great to see so many people participating/making videos. And of course, Happy Birthday Kerplunk! I love that record. Listening to it now to celebrate! The banners look cool by the way. I also made a few, what do you guys think?

I just finished watching it for the third time. And I was trying to find the words to explain how much amazing, and incredible, and awesome as fuck the final video is, and everything behind it that made it possible... But I'm speechless and redundant... 'Cause I love you is not enough, Green Day family!!!! This is one of the best think I have ever done and seen in my life I feel bad for telling you always the same things Mary, but really, this is the biggest THANK YOU I can write You're simply awesome, for everything you did! It's a bit of a shame because the new songs sound so fresh and spontaneous so I was expecting them to be recorded spontaneously too! They just don't sound like songs that should be agonized over for months and years. Makes me slightly worried that they just played those songs for fun and will now labour over a "proper" serious album for months and put that out instead
