Finally, here are my videos from Not So Silent Night (NSSN). Keep in mind that I was in the front row, center barricade, with security standing right in front of me and not supposed to be video taping, so I was pretending to be taking pictures, and moving my camera around a bit, so the videos aren't super steady. Green Day Live 105 NSSN 12/9/11 Billie Joe Intro, 2000 Light Years Away Hitchin a Ride End of Hitchin a Ride (camera card was full) Happy Birthday Tre! Florence Welch onstage with Billie Joe, and Burnout Rock and Roll cover, Highway to Hell cover, and Brain Stew Billie Joe on guitar during American Idiot with just Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool6 points

Thank you for posting that interview, desertrose. What they said in that article is so true when the reviewer said, you never know when you are going to end up at a Green Day concert and to keep your ears open. That is why I always try to tell myself to keep my phone charged because you never know when there might be an earthquake or a surprise Green Day show...either one is likely to happen at any time while living in the Bay Area! LOL I did not listen to myself because I went to the show with my phone at less that 60% battery life. Luckily it worked out and left the concert with the battery life at 20%.1 point

Great review of the show by Dakin Hardwick of spinningplatters.com You know what’s great about living on Oakland, CA? You never know when you are going to end up at a Green Day concert. This was the second time that I saw Green Day play without even knowing that they were going to be performing until early evening that day. I highly recommend keeping your ears open fellow bay area folks, because these are their best sets. And, anyone that made it out to Live 105′s Not So Silent Night were treated to the best. It’s not often that a band can play an arena on only a few hours notice. It’s even less often when you can get one of the few stadium-sized bands currently playing to show up so quickly. But, there aren’t very many Green Days out there. So, yes, Green Day aren’t playing this show completely cold. In fact, they’ve been playing secret gigs all over the place since September, including an instore at 1-2-3-4 Go Records in Oakland, and popping out after a Ty Segall show in San Francisco. This show, however, was nothing like those shows. In fact, this show was nothing like any Green Day show since the 90′s. I knew something special was afoot when the roadies set up the gear. The stage was amazingly bare: Two microphones, two amps, one drum kit. No confetti canons, no keyboards, none of the trappings of the type of show Green Day are doing these days. It was just Mike Dirnt, Tre Cool, and Billie Joe Armstrong. The last time these guys played a show as the core three may have been the Insomniac tour. Armstrong and Dirnt had matching died blonde hair that was spiked as very high as it could go, while Cool was dressed in his usual dapper best: slacks, short sleaved black dress shirt and tie. And, although their look may have changed dramatically over the years, none of them have aged a day since 1993. And, in addition to the band looking like they had in 1993, they also sounded like the did in 1993. They opened with “Welcome To Paradise,” a track that was originally released on 1992′s Kerplunk. The rest of the set followed suit, with the band pumping out hit after 1990′s pop punk hit. No ballads. No mini rock operas. Just pure, simple, 2 1/2 minute long rock songs. Billie Joe Armstrong explained how they ended up agreeing to this set in typical Green Day fashion. He said, “So we got this call from Live 105. They said that Jane’s Addiction had to cancel due to a family situation. It looks like they called the first band they could think of that lived 10 minutes away, and here we are.” They then pulled out an vamped out version on “Hitchin’ A Ride” that stretched itself out for about 5 minutes. Armstrong called out Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine to come on stage for a hug, who was intense and dignified during her band’s set, but was ecstatic as a Bieber fan when she got called out by Armstrong, and looked like she was about to both melt and cry tears of joy during the embrace. The crowd, which was, sadly, only about 2/3 full during this set, was supercharged with energy. There were no less then 5 different pits going at once, while not a single person was seated in the bleachers during the band’s set. They kept the whole show old school, with the only modern day Green Day track being the set closing “American Idiot,” which could have easily fit on any of their classic records. As per the usual, Green Day triumphed at this hometown gig. They proved that they still have the ability to be a snotty little punk band, and the fans that switched out their plans and got last minute tickets to this gig were treated to one of the most memorable sets of their lives. http://spinningplatt...911/#more-111731 point

My friend saw the run-through yesterday & she said that: - Jake was PERFECT as Will - Gabby was great, although she seemed a bit young - Scott was good - Matt sounded like Theo during "Too Much Too Soon" if not a little tired - Jillian was on for Kaitlyn & she sounded amazing for "Too Much Too Soon" - They changed who says the last monologue ("This is my rage...") I hope that they change it back... Heh. They had the full band except for the strings & it was a bit weird during certain songs. Overall, it sounds like it's a good cast.1 point

I got my sign ready and my Green Day tshirt is nice and clean! Oh, and since I also play guitar, I was going to include a little guitar part in my video just incase if not enough people could fill the parts. (I think that won't be a problem though.) You don't have to use it unless there's not enough people. We all very excited too for this too, Tony! And that's wonderful news! Now I'm even more excited that our video will be playing in London!1 point

Looks like this is going great guys! I'll be sure to get my entry in. Keeping up with as much as i can, but very excited about this. I think we'll be able to do the video at the Kerplunk party in London!1 point

new blog from Kelvin Thursday, December 8, 2011 Day 16: 90 Minutes of Sweat, Blood and Redemption We finally ran the show today! From start to finish, without a hiccup. It's quite incredible... every number is so powerful, melodically brilliant, and just incredibly stage worthy. In the few moments I'm not onstage, I watch my amazing cast mates when I should be catching my breath. I'm a fan of my own show and I am proud of it. I am sure I will never grow tired of it. For those who have ridiculed the show for not having a plot, I say, you suck. Those who say that these characters want nothing learn nothing.....Youth (and life in general): it is a journey where you never can know exactly what you want or how you will get it. In a life, filled with misguidance and trial by fire, sometimes you fail (most times....). But it is a tale still worth telling. Our associate director, Johanna McKeon, talked to us about the very last speech where we look straight out into the audience as a company. This is a story about the misfits, the outcasts: to say, "this one is for you". Yes, indeed. I can't say "as a former". As a man who draws circles and lemmings where one was asked to draw a square: I say, only crazy people with crazy ideas change the world. This one is for you, you awesome beautiful fucknuts. - Posted from my iPhone1 point
