I think there's a loss that people here are feeling on two levels. One level is the loss of money, where the solution is pretty simple (refunds, filing claims, etc). The other level is a loss of trust. If it turns out that Dawn lied, she lied to our entire community, multiple times. That's a pretty big deal, and even if it's not as pressing as people resolving their money issues, it's still certainly of importance. See, that's not really fair, because we were drawn into her personal life. This wasn't something she kept on the back-burner. She was telling everyone she met, including the band we all know and love, things that are potentially entirely false. It's not like we're snooping around in her personal affairs, trying to find ways to prove she's a bad person. She pretty much did that on her own. We were all led to believe plenty of things that are allegedly completely untrue, and it's not fair to tell people who want some kind of closure from that to go somewhere else.14 points

We talked for about 30 minutes, I asked her about many of the concerns people here had. Very briefly, as I'm with my family at the moment and need to get over there. This is exactly what Dawn told me. I told her I would relay all to you guys, and will continue to do what I can to confirm what she's said. She said she lied about the airline situation, she knows it was wrong, and she regrets everything that has come about from that. The reason for the lie was because she couldn't afford a ticket for the nurse who had to go with her. her doctor wouldn't allow her to fly, and if she did, it would be marked on her record unless she took a nurse with her both way. She lied to the airline about a family member dying so she could afford to fly her and her nurse to the show. Anyone who ordered something and hasn't' received it should file a claim with Amazon or Paypal to get a refund. While she was in the hospital she had her son take care of as much as he could, but he didn't keep up with the things necessary. She apologized for anyone who didn't get their order. She is sending everything she hads to Kat, and if anyone still wants to get the item they expected, they'll be able to get it from Kat. She is shipping everything to her on December 1st, so Kat will have an extensive list of what Dawn had. She said the items she was selling, she sold many of her own personal collection, then kept buying more items on eBay, which she then tried to re-sell to see if she could make any money for the charity. She wrote a check to the cystic fibrosis charity at the Costa Mesa show for $200, and she can send proof of that check. She also donated money to the Red Cross as she told people about, and she would also send that receipt to me soon. She said there wasn't a lot of money left after all the prizes and the NYC party. The idea of the charities were to raise money for GDATW and the leftover would go to NRDC. She didn't mention anything about sending money to the NRDC. She said she had multiple ebay accounts because she claimed when she signed up that it was a charity thing. She didn't have the paperwork to prove it was a non-profit, and eBay/PayPal froze the accounts. That's why she started the other account + the Amazon page. She is currently in the hospital, but she said her daughter snuck in the phone for her to use. She went in for surgery as others have said, and because of the whole airline incident, she did try to commit suicide and they put her in the psych ward. She expects to be released tomorrow, and will be sending me a scan of her release papers on Friday so that I can confirm whatever I need to confirm with the hospital. I asked her about the military service, and told her that people had found discrepancies about her service and the purple heart she gave to Billie Joe. She said she was a medic in the army until she got hurt, then she was a dentist which was a "desk job because of the injuries I had". After the surgeries she had for her injuries, she ended up in the wheelchair (I'm pretty sure that's what the story was). She said she has documents about her military service and would be happy to send them to me if it meant helping confirm her story. She said it would take a couple weeks to sort out, she'll send them to me, then i can do whatever I need to confirm it. I still don't know everything about her military service, I'll do what I can to confirm whatever she sends me in a couple weeks. What's most important to me is as it concerns the members of this community. If you are still waiting for items, file for a refund. And also, Kat will be getting all of Dawn's stuff and she can help with whatever needs to be done. Like i said, she will send me confirmation about her hospital stay on Friday for me to confirm, and she'll get the charity receipts for me as well (hopefully on Friday too). Dawn also said she has no intention of working anymore on GDATW. She's handing over all the items she had to Kat, then if she wants to continue GDATW or GDA have any part of it, she said we can do whatever we want with that stuff. Like I said, I can't confirm the stuff she's told me yet. I hope I can confirm whatever documentation she does send me. But that's her side of the story and until I confirm it, I don't really know what else we can do besides encourage people to file a claim for a refund. Edit: I also want to point out that the reason she called me in the first place was because I saw her name online anonymosly. I sent a message, told her we needed answers, we deserved them, and if she refused to get in touch I would let you guys know that she didn't reply. I got a reply and it said it was her daughter. She said Dawn heard that people were talking about this, she asked her daughter to read it and tell her what was happening. Her daughter told her I sent a message looking for answers, so she called as soon as she could.11 points

Read Lorraine or Alex's posts above to see why this concerns people. As I said earlier your concern about people getting their money back may or may not be the concerns of other forum members, it would be nice if you would quit acting like yours is the only important one here. and quit acting like its not ok to be sarcastic on GDC. I have to agree with Alex and Beth here...her personal life, military history, and medical issues were pointedly shared, even shoved into the faces of, this community. She used those issues to garner support for her cause. So, when most of that stuff turns out to be probably false....it should be fair game for discussion. There are hurt feelings and anger at being manipulated, along with lost money and lost items. I think people have been pretty calm in discussion and mature on this thread for the most part. A little snarkiness shouldn't be censured. I know Marian feels very angry about the probably falsified military record we all believed. She's married to a veteran and I imagine that makes her far angrier than most of the rest of us. To me, it absolutely cheapens the sacrifice so many real veterans gave. It sickens me and I'm not even in the military or related to anyone who was in it. All that aside, I think most of what needs to be said has probably been said. I can't think of a single potential lie that hasn't been questioned at this point. Now, we wait to see what she has to say. Or not. I doubt very much she will come on this thread. I hope the event can be saved. The idea, as envisioned by the originators was great! Even turning it into something environmental is good. But the name should be changed and Dawn Wilcox should not be permitted to have any part in it.7 points

I think people want answers to everything. To stifle the conversation seems unfair, but at the same time i'd urge people now to focus more on what we can do to resolve the situation as best we can. We could go on for pages and pages about all the holes in the stories. It's obvious to everyone here now that there is so much wrong with how this turned out. I don't know what more we can achieve without the person themselves revealing it. I'm devastated it's come to this, but i think it's time to stop second guessing everything and move on to some extent. Move on to saving this undoubtedly good cause, which is now in pieces.6 points

Kat, I don't know you, but feel very sorry for you and everyone else involved with this woman. Her reputation is a total loss now (at least it appears that way in this community), but it's sad to see other people go down with her. If you really are "Switzerland," I'd ask you to really take a look at the facts as they've been presented and ask yourself what you really believe. Not what you WANT to believe, but what is actually believable to a reasonable person. It's very sad to me that you feel compelled to be her voice on this forum, when she is evidently reading it as well as making phone calls to you and others. She most certainly can and should speak for herself. I don't think her lousy excuses really deserve any more attention or time from the good people in this community - who are the overwhelming majority as evidenced by this thread. But out of respect for and, quite frankly, feeling insulted on behalf of people who I love and admire who are real veterans, have made real sacrifices, and people who have and who are *really* dying of cancer, I'm going to post the following: I thought she was in a mental hospital? Which is it? Liver surgery or suicide? And you know, I've run across several people in my life who, when backed into a corner with no way out of a fat stack of lies, start screaming they'll kill themselves so people will back off. That's why jails have suicide watch cells. To that I say, people who are really suicidal just do it. They don't call other people crying about it. That's just a plea for attention, and that has quite obviously been Dawn's goal in this whole situation. I think the attention thing backfired when she didn't think the American Airlines thing through all the way beforehand. She got everyone's attention then, but not in the way she'd hoped. And what kind of cancer does Dawn have? Has she told you? What stage is it in? Where is she in the hospital? I'm assuming this would be the other invisible military hospital near Ft. Hood or maybe another magical place that accepts Tricare or VA health insurance. If she's really a disabled vet, she's insured with Tricare and they pay Medicare rates. No private practice oncologist would accept that when she could be seen at the VA or Army hospitals. I know, because my husband is also a veteran, and before we had private health insurance, we had to go to the VA. By the way, who is her oncologist? Most people with terminal cancer are practically on a familial-level with their doctor. My best guess at this is that American Airlines has obtained an injunction against her speaking about the incident any further. Corporate lawyers are bulldogs and will go for blood. It's speculation, but I'd think that's why all the social media accounts disappeared at the same time. That, or she's gotten a threat of a lawsuit from them. Like I said, it's a guess - but I think it's a pretty good one. All I can say is PLEASE. Really? I'm glad that Dawn basically repeated verbatim to you what I posted a couple of pages ago about what soldiers receive when they are decorated. And no, she's quite wrong. The medal is perfectly replaceable. My grandfather's was destroyed in a house fire and it was replaced. People buy replacements every day. What you can't replace is an authentic DD214 showing which medals you are authorized to wear - and that's a DD214 coming from the archives, not from Dawn's Photoshop. I'd like to see a copy of hers. Where is that, by the way? They're public record under the Freedom of Information Act, and I'm sure Fox News requested one either before or after they ran her story. Everyone knows Fox loves a good soldier worship story. If she'd be so kind as to sign her name to this form, we could have a copy sent to you, and you could scan and post it for us. I won't hold my breath on that, though. Since she hasn't signed a check to NRDC or even bothered to message people about things they've paid for but not received, I doubt any real validation of her story is likely to take place. Could we see a picture of her Purple Heart certificate? Or even a picture of HER in Afghanistan... or Iraq. I don't know anyone who has been deployed who hasn't come back with pictures of that. Where is her combat Unit patch on her uniform? I don't know of a single soldier who's seen a deployment who would be seen without that on. I have a very good friend who graduated from West Point, class of '03, and who was actually deployed twice - once to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. He's out now, but I sent him a link to Dawn's interview, and this is what he had to say: "VERY IMPORTANT: SHE IS NOT WEARING A COMBAT UNIT PATCH ON HER RIGHT SHOULDER UNDER THE AMERICAN FLAG. Combat patches are a religion in the Army. If I was going to put on my uniform again, I can guarantee that my combat patch would be on the right shoulder sleeve. Basically it's the unit patch of any unit you have been to combat with. A bare right sleeve is a sign to other soldiers that you ain't shit and that you have not seen a deployment. You want to tell people that you have been to war. Why doesn't she have that on?" "Another weird thing. She is not wearing her rank on her ACU cap....There really isn't a reason why she wouldn't have her rank on her soft cap. If she was deployed, she would have worn the soft cap around the FOB when not on duty or patrol. No rank means that someone would have homed in on her ass to ask why she had no rank on her soft cap. Very weird. On a non-provable note, she has the look of one of my Mom's ER patients trying to get pain-killers. So strange here." The database I referred to was not the Purple Heart database, but the database kept of all US casualties in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are ZERO casualties listed in either place on the date Dawn gave in her interview. I doubt very seriously someone would get that date wrong, seeing as it has such a tremendous significance - and it would be noted on their Purple Heart certificate, as well. And no, your MOS is your job. You don't have a "day job" and a "war job." What you are in the military is what you do - whether stateside or deployed. If she were deployed as Dental Technician, her job would have been cleaning people's teeth, not going "on routine patrol." Even if we went so far as to give her the benefit of the doubt that she actually was a combat medic (and I don't, but for the sake of argument...), it's highly unlikely that she would have been on "routine patrol" with a combat arms unit. That's what male combat medics are for. Females still aren't allowed in combat arms positions in the US military. This has been emphasized by both my husband (who was combat arms, 19D - Cavalry Scout, and then a scout sniper) and our friend who is currently a full-bird Colonel in Army JAG Reserve. All that to say - her story is insulting to people who have seen real action, who have really been injured, and who have given up their lives fighting overseas. It cheapens those sacrifices, and I take exception to it for them. Again, she told Fallyn's friend that she's in a mental hospital? I guess that is one that also specializes in laparoscopic surguries?? Going out on another limb here, but I'm wondering if the "non-profit" status was just an attempt to avoid paying taxes off of all the money she was making planned to "donate." There are quite a few of us Green Day fans who have experience and knowledge with the legal system. I'd be willing to bet that she could have gotten this non-profit status for free - especially if she'd just done the paperwork herself. It's not that big of a deal. But then again, I still don't see the necessity of being a non-profit to donate to a non-profit. How about just ask people to donate to NRDC in honor of Green Day? Most charities give space on donations to the money to be in honor or memory of one. Good luck to you on that. I hope Dawn gets well, too. And I hope above all, that the people who have been wronged here get answers, apologies, and refunds, and that Dawn can be a big girl and issue all of the above - herself, and not through another hapless victim.6 points

Well, after reading all 11 pages of this thread, this is shocking and really sad. I myself got involved with GDATW after hearing Tony talk about it on the podcast. Even at my fairly young age, I became one of the team leaders for Phoenix, AZ and, even though I didn't invest in GDATW financially, I invested quite a bit of my free time into trying to set up an event (which, unfortunately, didn't end up happening due to a lack of people). I had even managed to get a few city park officials behind it (after many, many sent e-mails). I had set up a Facebook page for the possible Phoenix event, but the page didn't get any attention until May 27th (or so I remember, I know it was close enough to the 28th that trying to schedule an event would be extremely difficult), the day before the whole thing was supposed to happen, when I received a reply from Dawn. She had found my Facebook page and had wished me good luck with my event. When I told her that it had been cancelled, she replied, in all caps, that I should try to call every news station and radio station in my area and (this is almost word for word) give them a sob story about GDATW and how it was founded by a retired Afghanistan war veteran who was wounded in combat and was now in a wheelchair. The whole idea was sort of forced on me and I didn't like the idea of giving a "sob story" to people to get their attention, so I didn't even attempt to do any of those things. Even when she sent me the message, it seemed sort of fake, and I didn't really know what to think. I wasn't really wronged by all this in any way that affects my life, but I did have faith in GDATW, but now that has been shattered. I still think that holding a yearly event (under a different name, of course) is a really good idea and I would love to be a part of it. And to the people that are still waiting for their items, I hope that you get what you paid for or at least get your money back soon. It is very unfortunate that this all had to happen, but I hope that we can all move on as a community and organize some new kick ass events. PS - I never got to thank you Tony for all of your help with event ideas and stuff like that during the event-planning process. So thank you! :good:5 points

The concerns regarding the military service thing are quite valid, I think. Maybe not in a sense where money has gone astray, but it's still a lie, and to a lot of people. People who thought she was their friend. And telling people you were injured, made wheelchair bound, in a war, is a big lie, if it turns out to be false. It's what got her close to the band. It's just not something you make up, and the only reason you would make it up is for attention, which she got. That's if it's false, obviously.5 points

She didn't say that she spent money raised from GDATW on the party. She said that came from herself. I think that was just terrible paraphrasing on my part. She did say straight up that she paid for the party, she didn't tell me what all the money raised from the charity auctions went to (aside from the two charities which she said she could show proof of). All she told me was that a lot of items sold in the charity was her own stuff (she said people did donate stuff, but it wasn't much), and she kept buying stuff on her own to try and sell. I still don't know what to believe, because I don't believe I'll have the facts until I'm able to confirm parts of her story on my own. But like i said, I just think it's important for people who haven't gotten items to claim a refund. I think she does owe more of an explanation about all the money because people spent money thinking it was going to help the NRDC and she didn't give me any answers about that (I also didn't really dig into that as much as I should have). Basically all she told me was that there wasn't that much money to begin with, she put a lot in into it herself. What she told me doesn't answer all the points raised by people, and that's fair. I just want to help get some answers to the people who gave money to this project, or ordered something and didn't get anything. If I can actually confirm the charity donations and that she has been it he hospital, and that's why she couldn't do stuff, I'll feel a little better. If I can't, well then, fuck.4 points

For the sake of clarity, I will post this: I witnessed firsthand how Dawn donated, in the name of GDATW, to Pipeline to a Cure at Cosa Mesa. The check was given to the Pipline representative on site. She, and I, thought it would be a good thing to do, to support a charity that Green Day themselves support. I spent the whole of that evening/night with her, and I have no doubts in my mind that she is very ill. She was on a lot of different medicines at that point, and as far as I could determine, she was indeed on chemotherapy and steroids (cortisone). The latter would explain her weight gain, since it causes you not only to put on normal weight, but also to retain fluids and get a "puffy" face. (This from extensive personal experience in the matter.) And yes, I did study medicine although I'm not working in that field now. I also saw her without a wig, and her hair had fallen out in patches and she had shaved off the rest to maybe half an inch. Dawn told me, and a handful of others, back in February that she had cancer, long before any of us knew about Kyle. I do know what type it is, in detail, and what stage she has told me she's in. None of these are words put in my mouth by Dawn or anyone else. This is what I have witnessed and I hope it can shed some light on some of the issues here. Ps. For you who don't know me, I am Minority Em on Facebook and Twitter...3 points

Judging by the amount of posts which earned the "popular" tag and the sheer number of posts in such a short space of time shows just how emotional (whether its anger, disappointment, support etc) people are, its clear that a lot of people feel strongly about this. There is a lot of ill feeling towards Dawn now but I don't think its a witch hunt, any criticism has been based on fact and in my opinion has been justified. I didn't invest any amount of time or money into GDATW, but I can understand why people would want to expose any lies and get to the bottom of this mess.3 points
-
The way the money GDATW raised was donated really rubs me the wrong way. People who had bought all these items for the charity had no idea where their money was going, Dawn just gave other peoples money to whatever charity she wanted without consulting anyone as far as I can tell. Granted I didn't keep up with the event all that much, but I thought all(?) the money was to go to NRDC as it was an environmental day. It is incredibly unprofessional that according to Kat she was to give $2500 to NRDC but ended up giving it to Red Cross instead. I'm not saying it's not a worthy cause, but she can't just change the entire direction of the money just because she felt it was right (or because Billie tweeted about it...), it was not her money to donate wherever she wished.3 points

Well, I'm sure I'm speaking for quite a few people when I say that I still don't believe a single word Dawn has uttered. The whole nurse thing, for example? Absolutely ridiculous. The media for certain would've reported this in their write ups, as it would've made the story of a poor old veteran being wronged by a popular airline that much juicer. Proof in the form of paperwork may help with a couple of the issues, however. Since her daughter is so involved with this, why doesn't she just fax the papers over to Andres today ...? No need to wait several weeks, likely while hoping we'll forget about this. Because we won't.3 points

Quit getting pissy. Can you have a civil discussion about this without getting angry at me? I hardly think the situation with Erendy is comparable to this one, but fair enough. You'll notice I haven't passed any judgement on Dawn, and have been saying things like "allegedly untrue" and giving Kat (or Dawn, should she ever post) a chance to offer an explanation for all the holes in her story. I wasn't on the team when Maya did what she did, and if I had been, I may well have argued the exact same thing I'm arguing now. I really can't say for sure, because I wasn't there. My point is, people have been lied to and hurt, and lost both money and trust. I think they deserve some kind of closure for both those things, and as long as this thread doesn't become wild speculation (which it hasn't), a witch-hunt (which it hasn't), or a Dawn-bashing extravaganza (which it hasn't), I don't see anything wrong with people wanting to find out the truth about her claims.3 points

Thanks for this, Andres. I'm not sure what to think, but I lean towards the believing Dawn-side. This bothers me, though. "raise money for the charity" doesn't even make sense. The charity was raising money to donate to NRDC, that's what she told us. She also told us she paid for the site and the party from her own money. To hear now that people bought stuff thinking it was for a charity and a lot of that money went into a (to be frank) shit website and a party only a small amount of people could attend instead of to NRDC doesn't sit straight with me.2 points

Kat, I love you to death. I fully support you trying to help, but I think that Dawn duped you even worse than she duped the rest of us. I understand you staying neutral, but I don't believe a goddamn thing that comes out of that woman's mouth. There really are far too many holes in the story, and I don't buy into them. I feel like I'm watching her take advantage of you, and your kindness and willingness to help, and I really don't like it.2 points

If she really does have cancer, she's severely exaggerated and/or lied about it in the past. As Beth said, no doctor in the world would just let you be taken off a respirator to fly across the country. She lied about her mother dying in order to get a bereavement fare to go to the show. We know that already. Telling us to leave it at that isn't very constructive. It's relevant information to this whole affair. So Fox News got it wrong when they said she was injured in a fall? (I'm not saying that sarcastically, I'm legitimately asking you). Because again, I very much doubt Fox News would've avoided the chance to mention that she was a purple heart recipient who had been injured overseas. This also doesn't explain why Marian couldn't find any accidents in the database for the date Dawn stated the accident occurred, nor the numerous discrepancies about her uniform. Sorry, I'm not buying it. There's just still too many holes in this story. If you can correct any of the observations I've made, please do, because the rest of what you said sounds at least vaguely plausible.2 points

I will address more concerns later but yes I know where she is as I called the hospital myself when I couldn't get a hold of her. I understand everyones anger but she will NOT be on here to defend herself for at least a week or two. She had surgery and is on mental watch. She is prepared to dig out all her military paperwork when she gets home. Like I said, I don't have hard facts either and can't clarify the issues like the airlines or purple heart. And some of what I said was my opinion, not what she said to me. So what is this thread now hoping to accomplish? People are angry. They want the truth. They want resolution. So do I as I don't know what to think either. She lied, misled, misspent money, and has ruined herself and she has to live with that. Of she comes on here to explain things, will any of you believe her? I don't think so. She will explain things and then what.... More of the ugliness that is on this thread? Call me duped, stupid, naive, whatever... But I will still try helping everyone out, and also being a support to dawn as best I can until this whole situation is resolved. Only then will I decide what to and what not to believe. If me having these titles helps people get their stuff and be at peace, so be it.1 point

I'd love for GDATW or a day like it would be continued. I think it should have a different name though, as GDATW now has a stain on its name. Have it be open to interpretation for each country/group. (I suggest Green for a Day doesn't have to be connected to the environment, you can also interpret it as Green Day day) But to answer your question, no, there isn't a thread (and I don't think now would be the best time to make one).1 point

I think they are more annoyed that she took over their idea, and on top of that, wouldn't let them participate in what she decided it would be.1 point

I don't know how people could feel annoyed about her trying to make that day into something more than just appreciation. It was about showing appreciation by doing more than we could do on just a regular day. I still think that's an idea worth doing, because getting involved in communities and helping out is a much more worthwhile than just saying we're fans like any other day. The problem with this wasn't that she wanted it to be more than the original idea, but that she tried doing it alone and without keeping people in the loop with what was going on.1 point

For picture 1, Mike's signature was different back then, and now he has 3 x's on his sig, and the dimensions are messed up, there is no depth or perspective on any of the signatures, the signatures look exactly painted on there and too evenly filled in, and I saw that same picture of the picture disk vinyl without the sigs on tumblr For picture 2, one of my friends used to meet green day back then (before tre) and he got their signatures, and john didnt sign al sobrante, he signed john kiffmeyer And for Picture 3: Heres the big one: look at this picture : http://ring.cdandlp.com/rareautopraphedgreenday/photo_grande/114991277-2.jpg , it's the same picture, but without the signatures.. Dawn also promised me a trophy that she would send to me because she said that i won it.....1 point

A lot of us have tried to be there for her and I think "most" of us have been blind sighted just because we are genuinely nice people. I think she stole the idea because she knew it was a great idea and thought of it to be something to get her noticed by the band. She brought a gazillion things to NYC to get signed by Billie to "sell" or whatever she did with it on GDATW- which I knew Mallory came up with, and I think another girl was involved? but I forget... Also, in NY I tried so hard so many times to help her and she was NEVER happy. That party she threw, the someone else had to pay for, I told Adrienne about before she even made the invitations and she said she would try to be there- hoping that would make her happy, but it wasn't enough. Some people just can't be pleased at all. A lot of us pushed her around NYC, stayed with her, tried to help her any way we could but it wasn't happening. I actually tried to help her as much as to one night she said she was killing herself and Tony and I were chatting and we decided that I should call a hospital to go to her house to see if she was okay, and then she flipped out on me saying to never do that again. IDK there was so much crap going on with her that I just started giving up. Then I was informed on what was going on with her recently. I also think it's kind of crazy to fly the day of a show without a ticket to a place that isn't wheelchair capable [the NYC show]....1 point

The thing that saddened and confused me was that Dawn rarely seemed to be happy during all of this. Even after the party in NYC went like a dream for the most part, she was still upset and angry at the end of it. There's so much we might not ever understand about this unless Dawn comes clean about the whole thing.1 point

I have learned a valuable lesson from all this. The next time someone asks me for a charity donation, I will only give a check payable to the name of the organization.1 point

All these issues currently raising concerns were all much less to do with the actual day that people met-up and did something good. Thay day was absolutely a success, with people all over the world working to do some good in their communities. Even the original charity went by without any concern as it seems most people got their items. It's only been in the recent months where things seem to have gotten weird. I'm glad we helped promote the GDATW event itself. That was where GDA was involved and I think it was a worthwhile event and something I hope we can organize and run ourselves in the future, without all this extra stuff that eventually led to the situation we see today.1 point

Tony, I don't think you should feel a high level of responsibility for this whole thing going sideways. You weren't the only one taken in by any means. GDA/GDC wasn't even the first place to promote Dawn and GDATW, it was just the most frequented place. You're only guilty of trying to be helpful with what you thought was an admirable and worthy cause and in the process, your involvement gave Dawn credibility she probably didn't deserve. But you're right - no one knows the whole story. I doubt we ever will hear the whole truth. If she is ill, I hope she feels better soon and comes online to address all the questions.1 point
