They did, yes. Before I heard Green Day, I'd listen to the same radio station day in and day out. I would fall for mostly very poppy songs, bands that make me cringe these days. In my own opinion, I now think that I used to have a terrible musical taste. But I was a girly girl, and I listened to whatever you were "supposed to" listen to those days, whatever bands that were popular. I never branched out, until I heard Green Day and then stuck with them. They opened up a whole new world to me. I went from the most lame pop to rock and roll I guess. It felt like a big change at the time.
