6 April 2025 On this day 12 years ago (6 April 2013), Green Day played the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on the 99 Revolutions Tour. 31 years ago (6 April 1994), Green Day played the Howden Ballroom in Vancouver, Canada on the Dookie Tour. 34 years ago (6 April 1991), Green Day played Bear's Lair in Berkeley, CA. -------------------------- 7 April 2025 On this day 8 years ago (7 April 2017), Green Day played the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on the Revolution Radio Tour. Oh my God, queuing for this show The entrance to the arena is inside the casino, near a food court. Three different songs were blaring at once. Others remembered Johnny B. Goode – which they were convinced was put on repeat to drive us away – but I only seemed to notice Roar by Katy Perry. The staff eventually said we could stay as long as we stayed awake. Someone tried to sleep in a toilet cubicle. I accidentally fell asleep on a table and a woman claiming to be a manager threatened to have me arrested if it happened again. We moved outside at some point. I don't remember it, but I apparently tried and failed to stop someone asking a prostitute about good places to sleep before falling asleep on the pavement. People started arriving from all over the world in the morning. At doors, a British staff member (called Bill, according to my recap) gave a speech about how he understood how long we'd been there and would get us inside fairly. He did. I wish British staff in Britain were that competent. The VIP tickets were sold out which meant there were 100 of them, but we all got great spots anyway. I was in front of Mike. I was so tired I wrote that I 'felt like I was melting into the barrier,' but the show was AMAZING. 100% worth it and the queue stories were hilarious. Some random tidbits from the recap: Mike was wearing the Otis jacket. Billie began the Holiday bridge with ‘Nevada, Nevada, place your bets!’ After Youngblood, he reluctantly announced ‘I’m kind of getting used to this Las Vegas Raiders thing’ before adding ‘fuck you I’m from Oakland.’ I'm not going to post the whole recap because it's just a load of emotional gushing. I think since they did Hella Mega they might do it if the circumstances were right, like I doubt they'd have resentment towards them now. But there's no particular need for them to and definitely nothing to prove. Honestly surprised Blink are that into the idea when even though their live shows have improved Green Day would still blow them away lol

Why would Green Day tour with Blink again? Even if they'd loved it, they've been there, done that. And the fans do NOT want another package tour, thank you! What a weird thing to complain about.

I saw a quote from the book on Reddit: Yeah it's not new info and I think it's pretty funny since they took it in turns to open on the tour and it was universally acknowledged that Green Day blew them away every night, and Green Day were openly trash talking them during the tour and stating their aim was the show they're the better live act. Green Day were bitter but only that a band they believed to be inferior was more popular than them lol. After their comeback with American Idiot they had nothing more to prove. It's really not a rivalry it's just one band being way better live than the other. Part about a rivalry/rematch is just cope

None of this is new information though, the issue with pop disaster is that while blink had the higher bill, as they were the bigger band at that point, green day were still smashing it, and blink struggled following them every night Difference is after pop disaster gd came back with AI so took over again. So perhaps that was a bit bitter for blink as they’ve never had that kind of resurgence with any of their comebacks. Plus Tom is a douche and using blink now they have the Kardashian connection and their treatment of Matt skiba was not cool

Mark Hopus just called out Green Day in his upcoming book. Check the internet he says at times they partied other times Blink would fight with their manager…any context…sad GD hated opening for them and that it was a tough pill to swallow called them rival gangs who hate/respect each other…asked them for a rematch to tour and says Green Day have ducked….I knew they hated each other but I have a feeling this is going to give our Bo s bad press for which sucks. Wonder if they will make a statement. Green Day > Blink by a billion

If Dilemma didn’t win the Grammy, I doubt Bobby Sox or OEB would. Not because they are bad, just that the Grammys like certain types of songs, mainly serious ones.
